Sunny swansong for ARB Tuning Kawasaki

It's all over. The fat lady sang. With an absolutely beautiful and sunny weekend the Maxxis British Motocross Championship came to a close at the iconic Hawkstone Park venue in Shropshire. The weekend kicked off for everyone with a party hosted by an energy drinks company, after which everyone crawled into bed and woke up to yet another beautiful day and the final round of the 2008 season.

Podium Sweep for Molson Kawasaki at Hawkstone Park

Molson Kawasaki’s Stephen Sword, Gareth Swanepoel and Tom Church all finish on the podium in the finale of the 2008 British Motocross Championship. The Hawkstone Park circuit and the Molson Kawasaki team both share a rich history in the British motocross scene which makes it fitting that the final round of the 2008 British Motocross Championship should also be the final race for the Molson Kawasaki team before the Church family owned and operated outfit retires from the sport.

ARB Tuning Kawasaki Conquers Tough Hawkstone Weekend

When ARB Tuning Kawasaki arrived at Hawkstone Park for the penultimate round of the British Masters Motocross championship last weekend, it had all the makings of yet another wet race. Drizzle throughout Saturday morning and rain throughout the afternoon made it look like it could be a repeat of the so ill-fated previous outing of the same series barely a few weeks ago, in which the team watched Sunday's racing get cancelled. On Sunday, mixed weather and blustery winds before lunch turned into sunshine later in the afternoon, turning the outing into something much more pleasant.

Youthstream Opens New Division & Offices in USA

Youthstream, the company that runs the FIM World Motocross and SuperMoto Championship Series, announced at a press conference before the start of the Belgian Grand Prix of Motocross, that they have opened a new division of the company, called Youthstream USA, with new offices located in the high tech business center area of Irvine in Southern California.

Steady Progress for ARB Tuning Kawasaki

Wet, windy and cold weather marked the fifth round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship as the full ARB Tuning Kawasaki team returned to Northern Ireland's Desertmartin track for yet another wet weekend. Although Saturday's arrival was in good conditions, the weather turned sour throughout the night. But - Desertmartin being what it is, soaked up the rain without too much trouble, and just turned into a very rough and choppy surface that would be challenging for the day ahead.

Molson teamsters Stephen Sword and Tom Church battle it out at round five of the British Championship at Desertmartin in Northern Ireland. For the fifth round of the British motocross championship the Molson Kawasaki team headed across the Irish Sea to the Porter’s Pit circuit that’s located near the village of Desertmartin in the district of Magherafelt. Persistent rain on the day helped dampen spirits at the sandy venue that has hosted the Irish GP in the past.

Dustin Wimmer Wins at Unadilla

Dustin Wimmer walked away with his fourth overall win at this weekend's seventh round of the ITP Tires/ Moose Racing AMA/ ATVA National Motocross Championship at Unadilla MX in New Berlin, New York. Wimmer went into the race with the fastest qualifying time on Saturday and followed up on Sunday with a consistent 2-2 moto score for the overall win.

Aussies Dominate Kentucky GNCC

Suzuki RM-Z450 riders finished first and third in the latest round of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Motocross Championships in Kentucky, USA, in the series' first-ever all-Australasian podium. The event, round seven of the 2008 series, was the first time an American rider hasn't finished inside the top three. New Zealand ace Paul Whibley made a last-lap move to win the challenging three-hour event - his second successive victory - and closes to within 23 points of championship leader David Knight.

Home of several Grand Prix in the 1980’s the track of Villars sous Ecot hosted a round of the French Elite and Women’s Championship this weekend. On a brand new layout the Grand Prix Kawasaki Racing riders took more success as Sébastien Pourcel and Livia Lancelot dominate their respective classes.

Third Consecutive GP Podium for Pourcel

Grand Prix Kawasaki Racing’s Sébastien Pourcel won his third heat of the year in Mantova and for the third time in a row he reached the podium with a second position overall in the Grand Prix of Italy. The weather was not as sunny as expected this weekend in Mantova and this event was run under cloudy and sometimes rainy conditions, which affected the circuit. Sébastien didn’t feel confident on Saturday and his run of pole positions was interrupted as he finished the timed session in seventh place.

Fantastic Series for Valentin Tiellet

French KTM rider Valentin Teillet was continuing series of great results in Portugal. He did two fantastic races and he is leading EMX2 Championship Classification for 30 points. The race track was hard, difficult, it has many jumps and different corners. First race was cancelled because of catastrophic crash that happened immediately after the start. Many riders were involved and start has to be repeated. Some of riders were injured. Among those riders were also Spanish Jose Antonio Butron Oliva who was third in EMX2 Championship Classification before the race, Italian Michele De Bortoli, German rider Ken Roczen and some others.

Mixed Fortunes for Suzuki Men in Italy

It was Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 rider Ken De Dycker's turn to narrowly miss out on a podium place this weekend as the former MX1 championship leader emulated his team-mate Steve Ramon's luck of last week - in Sevlievo - by losing out on a top-three overall finish by next to no points. Ramon, meanwhile, had a "weekend to forget" and could only muster a ninth place overall finish after two gruelling motos at the Mantova circuit during the Grand Prix of Italy - the fifth round of the 15 round FIM Motocross World Championship.

Lovemytime Motocross Grand Prix Of Italy – The Latest

The beginning of what will probably be a wet weekend with rain on Saturday and Sunday saw the FIM Motocross World Championship collective all set up at Mantova, the Italian city hosting the fifth round of the 2008 GP Campaign. A superb Yamaha Monster Motocross’ David Philippaerts enters Italy as the series leader and looks forward to improving on his last year’s result at Mantova, where he was knocked out twice. One of his main actual challengers is GPKR’s Sebastien Pourcel, the winner of the latest three Lovemytime Pole Position Awards who also topped the podium in Portugal.

Ramon Aims to Close MX1 Points Gap

Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 rider Steve Ramon will enter the fifth round of the FIM MX1 World Motocross Championship at Mantova in Italy this weekend looking to close the points gap on series leader David Philippaerts. Ramon - who is the reigning MX1 World Champion and currently sits in second place in the 2008 series - proved at round four in Sevlievo, Bulgaria that his race pace is better than the current championship leader, but poor starts have been making it difficult for him to beat the Italian rider in a straight-up race.

Philippaerts Enters Home GP of Italy with Head High

After visiting Sevlievo, the FIM Motocross World FIM Motocross World series including the MX1, MX2 and the Women riders will head to Mantova, Italy, for the fifth meeting of the 15 races calendar –second meeting of the five races calendar for the Women World Championship. MX1 rider David Philippaerts enters the Lovemytime Grand Prix of Italy, his home Grand Prix, as the series leader and the winner of the latest Grand Prix, while countryman Antonio Cairoli will try to get the MX2 red plate back from current leader Tyla Rattray.

Gregory Takes Win at Landrake

Round three of the British Masters championship took place at the weekend, held at the ever popular Landrake circuit near Plymouth, with Lewis Gregory showing great form after recent injury woes. Starting out in striking style, Lewis took the lead in race one half way round the first lap and continued to lead for the rest of the race to take the win. A first turn incident left Lewis with work to do in race two, but another strong ride throughout the 25-minute race saw Lewis capture third place in the race and seal the overall victory.
