Kallio Celebrates His Birthday with Ninth. Espargaro' Thirteenth

The 2009 MotoGP season is today over at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia. Pramac Racing riders, Mika Kallio and Aleix Espargarò, were really motivated after the good warm up where they have respectively registered the eighth and the thirteenth fastest lap times. Mika's best lap time was only two tenths of second slower from the third best conquered by Colin Edwards.

Last qualifying session of the year for the MotoGP category on the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia. Pramac Racing riders, Mika Kallio and Aleix Espargarò, have sensibly improved theirs best lap times conquered yesterday, but not enough to go further than the eleventh and sixteenth final position. For this reason Mika and Aleix have to be content with the fourth and sixth row.

After Monday's medical check up at Melbourne hospital Niccolò Canepa is unluckily obligated to miss the Malaysian race to be able to recover at the best and ride in the season final race at Valencia. The Italian rider, after the skin transplant done on Friday, will have to maintain the injured arm at rest so that the cut will not open again and it will not risk any infections.

Thankfully there was no sign of the high winds from twelve months ago and the first free practice session went ahead without delay, with the impressive Nicky Hayden and stand-in team-mate Mika Kallio lapping second and eleventh fastest respectively in the soaking conditions.

The second of the two post race tests of the 2009 season was spoiled by a strong downpour that started during the lunch break after a sunny and hot morning at Brno today. The track remained damp until approximately an hour before the end of the session, which was extended by 15 minutes to allow the riders to complete some extra laps.

Nicky Hayden recorded his second best result of the season so far at Brno today, where he crossed the line in sixth place following a weekend of hard work and continual progress with his team. The American didn't get the best of starts and was boxed in by the group around him but he fought back to regain positions and kept pace with the riders ahead of him to take the chequered flag less than four seconds behind the final podium finisher.

Confused race in Donington for MotoGP riders. The track conditions have changed many times due to some light rain that has fallen on the circuit where there were about ten laps left. Niccolò has managed very well this situation and after a difficult start he has begun his spectacular comeback.

The typical English weather has characterized the first free practice session of the British GP. Heavy rain has in fact fallen on the Donington circuit during the first minutes of the free session. After about half session the sun came back helping the track to dry out.

Pramac Racing riders, Mika Kallio and Niccolò Canepa, have lived different situation at the Sachsenring circuit last Sunday, but now everything is in the past and the white and red duo is ready for another weekend of racing at Donington. It will be the last time here, at least for the next years to come, in fact, from next season the MotoGP World Championship will move to Silverstone for the British round. Donington circuit is one of the oldest included in the MotoGP 2009 calendar. Mika Kallio has made it to step on its podium three times in his still short career: twice on the second step behind Bautista in the 125cc class in 2006 and 2005, and once in first position in 250cc last season in front of Simoncelli and Bautista. Also Niccolò did take some satisfactions on this circuit winning his first race here when he was riding in Superstock 1000cc in 2007. The circuit is 4023 meters long and present 7 right turns and 4 left turns.

Notwithstanding the precarious physical condition after yesterday's accident with Nicky Hayden, Niccolò Canepa has grit his teeth and made it to conclude his first race at the Sachsenring in twelfth position. The Italian rider didn't start in the best way possible and found himself in last position in the first three laps, but made it to constantly improve and reached and overtook Vermeulen, Talmacsi and his teammate Mika Kallio.

After the injury suffered in Assen less then three weeks ago, Mika Kallio is back on track even if his physical conditions are not the best and he made it to register interesting lap times during the first free practice session.
