Seasons Best Results for Taboo Motorsport

TABOO Motorsport returned to form at Cadwell Park with both riders posting their best results of the season to date. The team’s owner/rider Michael Hill narrowly missed out on a point bringing his FRS kitted machine home in 16th place after a race long battle with Stuart Elwood. 14 year old Max Thomas is TABOO Motorsport’s latest recruit and after benefiting from the team’s help at his home round at Knockhill two weeks ago he lined up in full TABOO livery for the first time over the Bank Holiday weekend.

After a string of top 20 results from both riders the team’s youngest rider Dan Moreton secured his first ever British Championship point by claiming 15th position last time out at Mallory Park. Since then the youngster from Northamptonshire has embarked on a new chapter in his racing career and will contest the final races under a new guise. TABOO Motorsport have over the past 3 years developed into a well known team within the British Championship paddock and with team owner / rider working within both Moto GP and World Superbikes from a media point of view have a strong connection with many of the top teams and riders.

Michael Hill on His Way to Another Top 20

Taboo Motorsport and its riders Michael Hill and Dan Moreton continued their early season form in the 3rd round of the British 125cc GP Championship at Brands Hatch earlier today. The grid for the 14 lap race was set at what should have been the opening round of the series so both riders used Saturday’s free practice sessions to further develop their 2008 machines. Both riders lapped over 1.5 seconds faster than when they originally qualified for the event.

After the disastrous none event at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago (caused by freak weather conditions including several inches of snow) TABOO Motorsport will make the journey to the Thruxton circuit in Hampshire this weekend for what will now be the opening round of the 2008 British 125cc Championship. After launching the team’s new look in style at Croft at the end of March, the new look team (consisting of team owner / rider Michael Hill and up and coming youngster Dan Moreton) had hoped for continued good form at the season opener but a few small technical issues coupled with the awful weather ended any such hope.

Strong Start For Taboo Motorsport

The Taboo Motorsport team had its first successful race weekend of the season with Michael Hill and new signing Dan Moreton both finishing on the podium at the North East Championship round at Croft this weekend. Following the official team launch on Friday the 28th March, Hill and Moreton took to the track to secure second and third places respectively on the grid during qualifying. They faced tough competition due to a strong field containing a total of six British 125GP riders.

Michael Hill On The Mend Following Snetterton Smash

Taboo Motorsport's Michael Hill has started the lengthy recovery process following a horrific smash at Snetterton where he sustained two broken vertebrae. Hill had started the British 125GP from 23rd on the grid after a difficult time in qualifying but his usual aggressive start to the race had seen him progresse to thirteenth place. Howevere, it all went astray on the last corner of the last lap when a fallen rider was assisted back onto the track on the racing line in front of Hill. There was little that he could do to avoid the crash and ended up rear ending the other rider who was hardly moving.

The second round of the 2007 British 125cc Championship was held yesterday at the Thruxton circuit in Hampshire. With the crowds in excess of 30,000 and the temperature will into the 20’s Michael Hill battled his TABOO Motorsport / Banks Racing Honda to superb 10th position. Having finished 19th in the season’s opening event the previous week, 25 year old Michael was optimistic about his chances after the first practice session held on Friday.

Electing to contest the two day (4 race) event instead of attending the official MCRCB test at Snetterton may have been a difficult choice but not for Michael.

British 125cc racer Michael Hill continued his work for the riders for health charity at the Ricardo Tormo circuit on Thursday ahead of the final round of the Moto GP world championship. Having supported the charity since taking up the sport, Michael once again took to the stage (having previously hosted the main stage on the Friday and Saturday at this years British Moto GP) joining resident Spanish host Cesc Vila for a day in which Spanish fans helped Riders for Health raise in excess of 70,000 euros.

Hill's Off To Spain

The season may be over for Norton's Michael Hill, but the 125 rider (who now lives in London) will head off to Spain later this month to host a charity event as part of the final Moto GP at Valencia, Spain. The 23-year-old, who is currently mixing his racing with presenting and broadcasting, has been asked to assist on stage at the Day of Champions at the final round in two weeks' time, and he hopes it will help to continue to boost his profile as he aims to expand his own team, Taboo Motorsport.

Strenuous Silverstone for Michael Hill!

Every race team suffers a tough weekend at some point in the season, and for Michael Hill and his TABOO Motorsport / KMS squad Silverstone was it, with Hill finishing the British 125GP race in a penalised 19th. The problems started in second free practice when Hill’s rear sprocket bearing disintegrated locking up his rear wheel into the fast Copse corner.

Wet Weather Halts Michael Hill’s Progress

The fifth round of the British 125GP Championship at Mondello Park had to be cancelled due to persistent, heavy rain making the race track unsafe to race on. Michael Hill and his TABOO Motorsport team were disappointed at not being able to race as they had made progress over the weekend and had hoped to score more points.

Taboo Motorsport's Michael Hill had a very productive two day test at the Bennetts British Superbikes pre season test as Snetterton. On board his RS125 Honda, Hill improved his lap time by a second and a half and was pleased with his personal progress.
