Sam Warren put in a stunning performance in the Henderson Yamaha R1 Cup race to claim his maiden victory in the class, today 5th May. Adrian Coates on the Stoneyford Concrete Yamaha R1 took the holeshot from third on the grid as the riders teetered through the first set of corners on the slippery Oulton track surface. His lead was short lived as Emmett and Ben Wilson stole through, before the unlucky Irishman crashed out at the start of the second lap.

Leon suffered a high-side early in the qualifying session, but despite feeling a little second-hand, the 24-year-old from Derbyshire took the final spot on the front-row for tomorrow’s two 18-lap Bennetts British Superbike races.

Thankfully the injury has healed well and Olie and the team are determined to get their season underway at the picturesque and challenging Cheshire circuit which has hosted some of the great races of yesteryear and where sections such as Lodge, OldHall, Knickerbrook and Druids are familiar to the riders and dedicated race fan alike.

Bruce Wilson Oulton Park Review
29 April 2008
Bruce Wilson from Gipsey Bridge near Boston will be greeted with a familiar circuit for the first time this season when he travels to Oulton Park for the second round of the Metzler National Superstock at the weekend. On his two previous outings in the series - Brands Hatch where he qualified for the race, that is now to be run on May 11 in 29th position and Thruxton where he finished in 25th place – Wilson was unfamiliar with the circuit layout, as he had never ridden at either circuit. But having competed at Oulton Park on many occasions he is relieved he doesn’t have to waste valuable testing time learning the circuit.

Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing made a positive start to their 2008 British championship campaign yesterday at Thruxton, with a debut British Superstock podium for Aussie Cameron Donald in third place; a fifth placed British Superbike debut for the Relentless Suzuki GSX–R1000 in the hands of Michael Laverty, and last but not least, a hard-fought fifth place for Ian Lowry in the Supersport class. Normally used to running only two riders in one class within the series, it was a busy day for the Relentless Suzuki team competing in four races at Thruxton. All eyes were on the team’s BSB debut and Michael Laverty did them proud after having to deal with tyre problems in race one.
