Bardney road race specialist Ivan Lintin scored a double podium in the two 250cc class races at Scarborough at the Cock o’the North meeting around the famous Oliver’s Mount course. Lintin notched up a second and third place finish on the McKinstry Racing 250cc Yamaha before switching to the Sunfish UK 600cc machine, which he took to a third and fourth place in the 600cc class. He was hoping to have his own 750cc bike prepared for the open class event but when he realised it would not be ready in time he opted to go out on the 600 bike and although very much underpowered to the rest of the field he scored an eighth and 10th place in that class.
Bardney racer Ivan Lintin was racing over two consecutive weekends in Ireland where he scored two top seven finishes in the Athea races before moving on to compete in the Skerries 100 road races where he rode to another two strong finishes. At Athea in the south of Ireland he qualified in second place on the McKinstry Racing 250cc machine and rode through to complete the eight lap affair in third place, breaking the lap record in the process.
Bardney road-racer Ivan Lintin was competing at the Bush Road Races in Ireland at the weekend where he notched up two strong finishes, sixth in the 250cc class and 10th in the open class. On a familiar track Lintin completed his qualifying in the dry to claim a second row start to his 250cc race the following day. But a heavy downpour of rain left the track surface damp and slippery for the start of his six-lap race, making any progress forward a dicey affair. He completed the six laps of the 3.307-mile road course in sixth position.
Three Lincolnshire riders contested the Spring Cup races at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough at the weekend with Ivan Lintin from Bardney securing a clutch of top results. Despite still having a few problems with the collarbone damaged last time out at Mallory, Lintin rode to second place in the first leg of the 250cc class and was fourth in leg two on the McKinstry Racing Yamaha. He then rode to victory in the B final of the 600cc race and was third in the second leg, this time riding the Sunfish UK/Bardney Racing Honda. He then rode the Barron Transport GSXR 1000cc Suzuki to fifth position in the heat going on to score 10th and seventh places in the two-leg final.
