Steady Progress for ARB Tuning Kawasaki

Wet, windy and cold weather marked the fifth round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship as the full ARB Tuning Kawasaki team returned to Northern Ireland's Desertmartin track for yet another wet weekend. Although Saturday's arrival was in good conditions, the weather turned sour throughout the night. But - Desertmartin being what it is, soaked up the rain without too much trouble, and just turned into a very rough and choppy surface that would be challenging for the day ahead.

Sword Extends Series Lead in British Championship

Molson Kawasaki’s flying Scotsman Stephen Sword completely dominated round four of the Maxxis British motocross championship - held under sunny skies at Lyng - to further extend his MX2 series lead. Stephen Sword took another step towards re-winning the British MX2 title by completely dominating round four at Lyng on his factory KX250F-SR. Fastest in qualifying and easily fastest in both races, there was no stopping Sword in Norfolk as he was head and shoulders above the competition with only Shaun Simpson able to nudge ahead for three laps in moto two.

Good Results Continue for ARB Tuning Kawasaki

Muddy conditions greeted ARB Tuning Kawasaki and its competitors at the third round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Waggadon Farm in Devon this past weekend. Delayed on arrival on Saturday to let the paddock area dry out, the team settled in to more rain overnight. As a result the racing was delayed by an hour on Sunday morning as well to allow the track to solidify somewhat, a decision that was once again undone by another heavy shower during MX2 qualifying practice.

Weather Ruins British Masters MX Opener for ARB Tuning Kawasaki

Heavy rain put paid to the season opener for the British Masters Motocross series at Culham in Oxfordshire this past weekend. The weekend's weather steadily worsened throughout Saturday, and when it became clear during the Pro 125 class qualifier late afternoon that the weather would not improve any further, the second session for the Pro Open class was called off. Further heavy rains throughout the night forced the promoter to call off the Sunday's racing.

As teams descended on Donington Park, the location of the 2007 British Motocross Grand Prix, for the Maxxis British Motocross Championship opener this past weekend, their fears of a wet race were not realised.

ARB Tuning Kawasaki Starts Season On A High

ARB Tuning Kawasaki made the trek to the traditional season opener for British motocross at Hawkstone Park this past weekend. Riding exclusively in the MX1 class and facing some of the toughest competition in the world, Mark Jones and Jamie Lewis made a good first impression, and more. After both qualifying in the twenties, Mark and Jamie scored top fifteen and top twenty results throughout the day. Both riders suffered from mid-pack starts, but both made their way towards the top fifteen by mid-race, and this work was rewarded with the honour of the top scoring Kawasaki team of the day.

Solid Tenth For Jessopp

Martin Jessopp and the Riders Racing Ducati team rounded out the season with a solid tenth place finish at the final round of the Maxxis British Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. Jessopp was eager to gain a good result at the last race after suffering a disappointing weekend at Donington Park a few weeks ago.

Mackenzie Wins First British Championship

Kawasaki celebrated their third national motocross championship success of 2007 when KRT’s Billy Mackenzie won the Maxxis British title at his first attempt to compliment crowns gained in the USA and France. 23 year old Mackenzie, winner of the Grand Prix of Japan and the first world championship event with the KX450F-SR, gave the manufacturer their first British accolade since 1996 and ended Honda’s seven year dominance in the premier class of the UK competition.
