RM-Z Suzukis On ‘Nations Podium

RM-Z450 Suzuki riders Ivan Tedesco, Steve Ramon and Kevin Strijbos climbed the podium this afternoon at the 60th Motocross of Nations held at a sunny Matterley Basin circuit near Winchester in England. Tedesco defended his status as World Champion as part of Team USA while Ramon and Strijbos assisted Belgium to the position of runners-up.

Yamaha Wins All Races In MX-des-Nations

MX1 World Champion Stefan Everts and vice-World Champion Antonio Cairoli gave Yamaha a 100% score in the MX-des-Nations event. MX1 World Champion Stefan Everts ended his career by guiding Team Belgium to second place today at Matterley Basin in Great Britain for the 60th Motocross of Nations.

Strijbos Takes 3rd Podium

Team Suzuki’s Kevin Strijbos notched his third podium in a row and fifth top-three result in the last six races on the RM-Z450 with runner-up position today at a spectator-packed and hot Matterley Basin for the British Grand Prix; the eighth round of the MX1 World Championship.

Another Runner-Up Place For Cairoli

Antonio Cairoli repeated his Italian Grand Prix runner-up position at Matterley Basin as the top two steps of the MX2 podium were again filled by David Philippaerts and the De Carli representative. The World Champion had started badly in the first race on a track that proved difficult for passing simply because the high speed and simple layout meant that the distances between riders remained constant and tricky to breach. He was able to improve his ranking by one digit to sixth after Nicolas Aubin faded back through the top ten.

Stefan Everts' assault on the World Championship record books weathered its toughest test in weeks but came through unscathed at the eighth round of the 2006 series. At a hot and packed Matterley Basin circuit for the British Grand Prix the World Champion won both motos to stretch his unbeaten run to thirteen races and eight perfect rounds so far.

Team Suzuki 2nd And 3rd On MX1 Gate

Team Suzuki has returned to be a protagonist in the FIM MX1 World Championship as Steve Ramon and Kevin Strijbos set the second and third quickest qualification times at a sweltering Matterley Basin for the British Grand Prix and round eight of the series today. The new circuit on England’s south coast is experiencing typical teething problems and the fast layout is hard and slippery in places with the fine top soil struggling to form any solid berms.

Suzuki Strong For New British GP

Team Suzuki head to the British Grand Prix at the brand new Matterley Basin near Winchester this weekend having notched four podium appearances in the last two rounds and are easily the strongest squad in the MX1 class. Kevin Strijbos and Steve Ramon have taken the works RM-Z450s to second and third positions respectively in Bulgaria and Italy, and Strijbos has moved up behind Stefan Everts at the top of the FIM World Championship standings thanks to his recent good form.
