Byrne & Crutchlow Take the Victories at Brands
4 Days ago
Cal Crutchlow powered through the pain barrier to take third place, adrift of Shane Byrne and Tom Sykes, and then took a victory in the re-scheduled round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch. The HM Plant Honda rider sustained a dislocated right ankle and ligament damage in a crash in the Holiday Monday round at Oulton Park and was passed fit to race after lengthy treatment by the Coventry City physio and series’ medics. He had started alongside Byrne at the front of the grid – the positions had been decided five weeks earlier at the snow aborted opening round, and in total contrast the races were fought out over a sun-drenched Kent grand prix circuit.

Shane Byrne & Cal Crutchlow Take The Victories
21 April 2008
Shane Byrne and Cal Crutchlow were the race winners as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship began for real at Thruxton, and with them each taking a second place, they left the Hampshire circuit as the joint leaders of the series, ahead of the rejuvenated Michael Rutter who took a brace of third placings. Byrne, riding the Airwaves Ducati, had repeated the pole starting ride of the snow aborted Brands Hatch opening round, but he was out-started by Leon Haslam and Michael Rutter, before Cal Crutchlow swooped ahead to lead at the end of the opening lap.

CJ Riders Fund Ready for Thruxton
17 April 2008
After the snow swept Brands Hatch, the CJ Riders Fund still had a very successful weekend at what was meant to be the opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Six inches of snow put a stop to the racing on Sunday, (6th April) and the meeting has now been rescheduled for May. The CJ Fund used the weekend to their advantage and had a practice run with their new CJ Unit, which worked perfectly and was situated in an ideal spot at Brands. The new CJ Promo Girls worked exceptionally hard throughout the weekend despite the freezing conditions, they still plugged away in their lycra suits collecting monies, look out for them at Thruxton!

Highside Hinders Jessopp
17 July 2007
It was another disappointing weekend for the Riders Racing Ducati team when Martin Jessopp succumbed to the terrible weather conditions and crashed heavily out of the Maxxis British Supersport race at Oulton Park. Jessopp had been running strong all weekend on the Ducati 749 and was unlucky not to finish the 14-lap race. He had ridden well throughout the weekend and had made progress with the bike and found a good set up in both the wet and the dry. Friday’s practice was extremely wet and Jessopp suffered a heavy crash at Druids which left the mechanics with a lot of work to do for the afternoon session, he was back out and put in a healthy time which saw him lying in 10th position.

Disappointment For Jessopp At Oulton
10 May 2007
It was yet another disappointing weekend for the Riders Racing Ducati Team and their rider Martin Jessopp at the fourth round of the Maxxis British Supersport Championship at the picturesque Oulton Park. Holding a strong top ten place Jessopp suffered a mechanical failure which saw him being black and orange flagged from the circuit and having to retire from the race. The 21-year-old from Yeovil had worked hard all weekend and yet again luck was not to be on his side. He struggled to find a comfortable race set up for the Ducati 749 and ended up qualifying on the fourth row in 16th place. A strong start saw him settle comfortably into 13th and it was not long before the youngster was stringing together fast lap times, which allowed him to pass James Hiller, Jamie Robinson and Richard Cooper and moved him into a healthy top ten position.

At Thruxton Seventh for Jessopp
17 April 2007
Riders Racing Ducati rider Martin Jessopp secured a confidence building seventh position in the British Supersport Championship at Thruxton circuit this weekend. The 21-year-old from Yeovil rode a strong race despite the fact that a stone had put a hole in the radiator in the early stages of the race causing the Ducati to overheat throughout the race, this also effected the power delivery of the bike and therefore he had to bring the 749 home in a good top ten position.
