MotoGP - The Final Showdown

The four British Grand Prix stars race from Malaysia to Valencia in Spain to compete in the traditional final showdown of the MotoGP World Championship in the frenzied atmosphere of the Ricardo Tormo circuit on Sunday. The 2.489 mile tight demanding track will be packed by around 120,000 noisy fans to provide a fitting finale to the season which has turned into a year of great highs and lows for the British riders. Twenty –eight year old James Toseland completes his first season in the premier class of Motor Cycle racing, the MotoGP World Championship and his results in the last two races sum up his fortunes. Two rounds ago he finished a brilliant sixth in Australia after qualifying on the second row of the grid riding the Tech 3 Yamaha. Last week he crashed in the early stages of the race in Malaysia after qualifying 12th.

Rossi Feels the Heat to Fight Off Pedrosa

Valentino Rossi secured his ninth win of the season in the Polini Grand Prix of Malaysia, not only fighting off the challenge of Dani Pedrosa but also the searing heat with temperatures reaching the mid forties at the height of the 21 lap battle round the demanding 3.447 miles Sepang circuit. The World Champion, riding the Fiat Yamaha, toyed with the impressive Pedrosa in the early stages before taking the lead to win with over four seconds to spare. Spaniard Pedrosa was an equally comfortable second on the Repsol Honda in front of a tremendous battle for third.

Toseland Looking for Repeat Show in Steamy Sepang

James Toseland arrives at Sepang for the Polini Grand Prix of Malaysia on Sunday determined to repeat his superb ride in the previous round of the MotoGP World Championship in Australia. The Yorkshireman celebrated his 28th birthday with a hard fought sixth place at Phillip Island riding the Tech 3 Yamaha and has been working flat on his stamina to produce a repeat performance or better in very different circumstances at the penultimate round of the Championship.

Toseland Back on Track

After three moral sapping races James Toseland got his season back on track in the first day of practice for the Cinzano Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera of Rimini in Misano this afternoon. The 27 year old Yorkshireman has been beset by tyre problems in those last three races but after the two one hour sessions today round the 2.626 mile circuit he was tenth fastest. Riding the Tech 3 Yamaha for the first time at the Misano MotoGP circuit Toseland was just over one second behind World Champion Casey Stoner who led the way.

Kallio Fifth in Brno but Still in Title Hunt for 250cc

Red Bull KTM 250 star Mika Kallio finished fifth in Sunday's Czech Grand Prix but remains in the title hunt after his rival and world championship leader Marco Simoncelli finished third. Kallio now trails the Italian by 16 points with six more races to go to complete the season. Simoncelli dropped back from first to third in the final corners of the race to cut back his points tally for the race on the traditional Brno circuit.

Toseland Looks To Brno Repeat

James Toseland heads the refreshed British riders returning from the summer break to face the last seven grands prix of the season, starting with the Cardion ab Grand Prix of the Czech Republic at Brno on Sunday. The twenty seven year old Yorkshireman returns after a tremendous first part of his MotoGP debut season and has every reason to be confident in the 22 lap on Sunday. Last year he really tuned his season round with first and second places in the two World Superbike Championship races at the superb 3.357 mile Brno circuit. He currently lies ninth in the World Championship riding the Tech 3 Yamaha but good results in the final seven races could lift him as high as the top six.

Toseland Back Into The Unknown

After disappointments at two circuits he knows well, James Toseland returns to his journey into the unknown at the Alice Grand Prix of Germany at the tight twisty Sachsenring on Sunday. The 27 year old Yorkshireman has shown already in his MotoGP debut season how quickly he can learn new circuits on the Tech 3 Yamaha and the tenth round of the MotoGP World Championship should be no exception. Toseland crashed in Donington and struggled with the set-up in Assen to eventually finish in ninth place but still holds eighth place in the Championship, just ten points behind former World Champion Nicky Hayden.

Toseland Picks Himself Up & Prepares For Assen Battle

His pride may be damaged and his hand bruised but James Toseland has already put the Donington disaster behind him as he prepares for the next contest, the A-Style Dutch TT at Assen on Saturday. The 27 year old Yorkshireman arrives at the ninth round of the MotoGP World Championship with a winning pedigree at the 2.830 miles circuit in the World Superbike Championship. The Tech 3 Yamaha rider is eighth in the World Championship in his debut MotoGP season and will forget that first bend crash at Donington as soon as practice starts on Thursday morning.

Toseland Chasing a British Dream

It’s the weekend of the year that all British Motorcycle racing fans have been waiting for the bwin.com British Grand Prix at Donington Park. It’s the weekend when Britain’s MotoGP stars return home to race at the 2.50 miles Parkland circuit for their only British appearances of the season. Spearheading the British challenge is 27 year old Yorkshireman James Toseland who returns to the circuit where he won a World Superbike Championship race last year. Riding the Tech 3 Yamaha he’s made a superb start to his MotoGP career and after four sixth places in the opening seven rounds he lies seventh in his MotoGP debut season.

New Boy Toseland at the ‘Home’ Of British Youngsters

There is hardly time for the British riders to catch their breath as they race from Italy to Spain to compete in the Cinzano Grand Prix of Catalunya in Barcelona on Sunday. For James Toseland it’s a new experience as he prepares to pit his considerable skill against the demands of the superb 2.937 miles Circuit De Catalunya for the very first time. For the British 125 cc youngsters it’s a familiar path because Bradley Smith, Danny Webb and Scott Redding have all honed their World Championship skills in the Barcelona based MotoGP academy and in the Spanish 125 cc Championship. Ulsterman Eugene Laverty also faces the 250 cc race after equalling his best ever grand prix finish at Mugello on Sunday.
