Excellent Performance From Dovizioso Despite Crash

The Grand Prix of Portugal ended today for Andrea Dovizioso in a crash, which was poor reward for the effort and skill he displayed during the first half of the race. Dovi started well from seventh on the grid to battle through his fellow competitors to join the lead group of four riders, which soon pulled away from the chasing pack. Andrea and his Honda RC212V were not dropped by the Yamahas of Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi or the Honda of Dani Pedrosa, showing that Andrea was able to maintain an excellent rhythm, even if the track was not in the best condition thanks to the overnight rain and the spots of rain which arrived during the race.

JiR Team Scot Pleased With Final Day’s Work

Today was the third and final day of the first test of 2008, in preparation for the up-coming MotoGP season. JiR Team Scot rider Andrea Dovizioso secured the 7th fastest time of the day with a best lap-time of 2m 01.447 during another very intense day of work. Dovi spent his time devouring the miles and the Michelin tyres in a bid to get maximum feedback and feeling from his four-cylinder RC212V Honda, which is proving to be a potent package for the season ahead.

Dovizioso Improves To 8th

Day two of JiR Team Scot’s three-day test at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia was once more made up of hard work and hot and humid weather. The team is working towards putting Andrea Dovizioso in the best position set-up wise with his Honda MotoGP machine for the first race of the season in Qatar in just six-weeks time. Today the team once more worked on improving the general handling of the Honda RC212V and eliminating the problems encountered yesterday with corner entry and engine braking. The team also tested some new tyres from Michelin, while Andrea also took the opportunity to become more familiar with Michelin’s qualifying tyre. The 21-year-old Italian managed to complete 55 laps during the day and improved his position to 8th place overall.

First Test For Dovizioso on 08 Honda In Humid Sepang

With the test ban coming to an end on 20th January, today’s first MotoGP test of 2008 got underway in the sweltering heat and humidity of Sepang in Malaysia. JiR Team Scot began their programme of development on the new Honda RCV212V MotoGP machine with their rider Andrea Dovizioso. Today the 21-year-old Italian spent the day getting acclimatised to the new machine, which he will ride during the 2008 season. Over the next three days JiR Team Scot will be acquiring as much data as possible on the new machine so they can develop the bike for the former 125cc World Champion to help him find the best machine settings before the first race of the season in March.

Montiron Analyses the '06' Honda

In an exclusive interview with Konica Minolta Honda team manager Luca Montiron, the Italian reviewed the preseason and the final Jerez test, with only 10 days left before the start of the season. Having problems with the set-up and the tyres, it looks like they still have a lot to do before the season start.
