Hammers Face Wolves In Vital League Match
08 July 2008
The next task for the high flying Lakeside Hammers Speedway team is to defeat Wolverhampton in a vital Sky Sports Elite League match at their Arena-Essex Raceway this coming Friday, 11th July. Historically Wolverhampton have fully tested the Hammers around their Essex circuit in the past so the Hammers will go into this meeting in a very determined mood. The present difference in the League positions of the two sides will mean nothing on the night as the Hammers will be looking to keep their 2008 undefeated home League record intact. The Hammers are currently in third place in the Sky Sports Elite League whereas the Wolves are just one place above the bottom club, Coventry, who won all the major team championships last season.

The Lakeside Hammers GP Swedish star, Andreas Jonsson, was involved in a high speed crash during Saturday night’s Grand Prix, which took place in his homeland, but it now appears that he has escaped without serious injury. The GP was staged at the Ullevi Stadium, Gothenburg and it soon became obvious that the track was going to cause the riders major problems. Hammers Keep Focused
23 May 2008
Despite there being no action at the Arena-Essex Raceway this Friday the Hammers riders are keeping fully focused as they now look to face Poole in a vital top of the table clash the following Friday, 30th May. The Hammers Return to League Racing on Friday
30 April 2008
Following the successful staging of the British U-21 Final at their Raceway last Friday the Hammers return to Sky Sports Elite League action this Friday with the visit of their nearest rivals, the Ipswich Witches. The British U-21 Championship took place in front of a good sized crowd at the Arena Essex Raceway and was eventually won by Tai Woffinden from Adam Roynon and Ben Barker after 22 heats of enthralling racing. The last time the Ipswich Witches were at the Arena Essex Raceway was on Good Friday in the Craven Shield and despite the Hammers winning in the afternoon at the Witches home circuit at Foxhall Road they went down to the Witches in the home evening return fixture. The Hammers riders will, therefore, be looking to gain revenge over the Ipswich for that defeat when they meet on Friday in the League.
