Neukirchner Powers to Superpole in Home Round
15 June 2008
Max Neukirchner (Alstare Suzuki) powered to a second Superpole win of the season in his home round of the HANNspree FIM Superbike World Championship at the Nurburgring. The 25-year-old from Stollberg in the former East Germany, set an incredible time of 1 minute 55.471 seconds around the 5.137 km circuit on his Suzuki GSX-R1000. The remainder of the front row was made up of riders from three different manufacturers; Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) was three-tenths of a second down in second place, followed by Carlos Checa (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) and Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB), who ten days ago was undergoing surgery on a broken collarbone.

Bayliss Takes Healthy Points Margin to Monza
08 May 2008
Following his double victory at Assen, Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) will come to Monza for the IDS Italian Round of the HANNspree FIM Superbike World Championship this weekend with a healthy 70 point lead in the table over his closest rivals as the series reaches third distance. In eight races so far on his Ducati 1098 F08, the 39-year-old from Taree has taken the chequered flag on five occasions, finished second twice and has only been off the podium once, in race 2 at Losail. This sort of steamrolling form will guarantee Bayliss an ample cushion from his 178 points in the next few races should a challenge be mounted by the chasing four-cylinder contenders.

SBK Heads to Classic Dutch TT Circuit for Round 4 of 14
23 April 2008
The classic Dutch TT circuit at Assen plays host to the fourth round of the HANNspree FIM Superbike World Championship this weekend, after a gap of three weeks from the Spanish Round. With two second places at Valencia, Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) increased his lead over his closest rivals to 48 points but the Australian is now coming under threat from a number of adversaries, mainly on four-cylinder machines. Regulation-wise, there will be no extra handicap applied to the twin-cylinder 1200s for the next three rounds, as the event average difference between the two types of machines – twins and fours - has so far proved to be insufficient to warrant a change.

Pirelli Race Review Valencia
07 April 2008
The third round of the season for the Championship and the first with a full paddock at Valencia. After the first two overseas races the two ‘Stock’ classes started and the paddock was back to its full vitality. The good weather at Valencia allowed the riders to exploit their Pirelli tyres to the full, even on Friday, and records were broken. In the SBK class Max Neukirchner, in the SSP Andrew Pitt and even in the two Stock classes: there were new track record in all the classes and several more riders were under the previous records.

06 April 2008
Lorenzo Lanzi (RG Ducati) and Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB) took the wins in a spectacular day of action at Valencia in front of 60,000 spectators, a record attendance for World Superbikes at the Spanish circuit. Carlos Checa (HANNspree Ten Kate Honda) and Max Neukirchner (Suzuki Alstare) were the protagonists of the first race. Neukirchner led every lap from pole position until the final corner, when Checa dived inside, but the Spaniard crashed and took his German rival down with him. Neukirchner suffered a broken left collarbone in the incident and failed to take part in race 2, while Checa remounted to finish fifth.

Suzuki Take 1-2 In Thrilling Valencia Superpole
05 April 2008
Suzuki Alstare riders Max Neukirchner and Yukio Kagayama finished first and second in today’s thrilling Superpole session at the Valencia circuit. The young German rider has been on the pace all weekend and he took his first ever Superpole, Suzuki’s 16th pole position, with a time of 1m33.805s, the new outright circuit record. His Suzuki team-mate Yukio Kagayama was just a fraction of a second behind, the Japanese rider almost back to full strength after his recent collarbone injury. Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) was the first rider this weekend to dip under 1m34s, but he was outpaced in the one-lap sprint and had to settle for third place.

Bayliss Brings 999 Era To An End For Ducati Xerox
08 October 2007
Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) brought the Ducati 999 era to an end as he finished second and fifth in the final two races of the year in front of 75,000 spectators at Magny-Cours in France. With both wins going to Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha) and the title in the hands of James Toseland (Honda), the 38 year-old Australian concluded the 2007 championship in fourth place on 372 points. Team-mate Lorenzo Lanzi had a disappointing end to his period in the factory Ducati Xerox Team with a nasty high-speed crash at the start of race 1. Lorenzo suffered bruising to his right shoulder, elbow and knee, which forced him to miss race 2. The Manufacturers' title went to Yamaha, with Ducati in second place, but there was satisfaction for the Italian manufacturer today as 19 year-old Niccolò Canepa clinched the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup with the new twin-cylinder Ducati 1098S in its first year of competition.

The 2007 World Superbike Championship draws to a close this weekend at the Magny-Cours circuit in central France with the final round of the season. Despite winning one of the two races at Vallelunga last Sunday, Ducati Xerox Team's Troy Bayliss is now unfortunately out of contention in the fight for the title, which has been whittled down to just three riders - James Toseland (Honda), Max Biaggi (Suzuki) and Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha).

Bayliss Spoiled Biaggi's Roman Holiday With A Race 2 Win
30 September 2007
Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) bounced back from a race 1 defeat by Max Biaggi (Suzuki) to grab the second race spoils and ruin the Rome rider's hopes of a double win at his home circuit in front of a massive 80,000 crowd. Lorenzo Lanzi could only finish sixth and seventh. Troy led the first three laps of race 1 before Biaggi powered past and then Haga did the same three laps later. The Australian had to make four attempts to get past Haga (Yamaha) before clinching the runner-up slot. "I was struggling to make the bike do what we want it to do" declared Troy after race 1. "Everything was working OK but we really need to do something with the settings to get that last bit of feeling. I had three or four goes at getting round Nori, it wasn't easy and finally I managed but there was no way I was going to catch Max unless he made a mistake."

Bayliss Takes Thrilling Victory Against Haga In Race 2
10 September 2007
Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) bounced back from his race 1 defeat to take a thrilling victory from Yamaha's Noriyuki Haga in the German Round of the World Superbike Championship at the EuroSpeedway. In the first 24-lap encounter Troy made all the running until half-distance, but tyre problems meant that he was passed by Haga and then by Max Biaggi (Suzuki) and Troy Corser (Yamaha) four laps from the end, finishing fourth. The second race was showing a similar pattern to the first as Haga again passed Troy on lap 14 to take the lead, but this time the team had fitted a harder front tyre to his 999, which certainly contributed to the result, and Troy was then able to re-pass his Japanese rival on lap 20 to take the chequered flag for his fortieth Superbike win.

Bayliss Grabs 3rd Place In Wet Lausitz Superpole
09 September 2007
Troy Bayliss grabbed third place on the grid for tomorrow's German Round of the World Superbike Championship in an exciting Superpole session held in poor weather conditions at the EuroSpeedway. Troy will start the two races from the front row behind surprise poleman Fonsi Nieto and Regis Laconi. Team-mate Lorenzo Lanzi lines up on the third row of the grid in eleventh place. Everyone went out on slicks in the first four dry minutes of the session, but the only riders to complete a full lap before the rain fell were the Kawasaki duo. Bayliss stalled his 999 at the end of the pit-lane before setting off on his dry lap, which as a result he was unable to complete, but he then made up for it by being the quickest rider on rain tyres.

Bayliss's Championship Hopes All But Ended With Brands Results
07 August 2007
Troy Bayliss's hopes of taking a second successive World Superbike title for the Ducati Xerox Team all but vanished today as he came away from Brands Hatch with disappointing results in the two races. The 2006 champion started from pole position but crashed out on lap 5 of race 1. Troy then struggled with tyre problems in race 2 and could only finish seventh as James Toseland (Honda) took a double win in front of a massive 126,000 crowd. Lorenzo Lanzi also had a disappointing day, the Italian only managing a ninth and a twelfth in the two races.

22 July 2007
The Ducati Xerox Team's worst fears regarding the ninth round of the World Superbike Championship were confirmed as Troy Bayliss and Lorenzo Lanzi had a disappointing day at the Automotodrom Brno. The Italian team again found the going tough on the Czech track and a crash for Troy Bayliss in race 1 and a sixth place finish in race 2 complicate matters somewhat for Troy in the title battle. Lorenzo Lanzi also struggled on the second Ducati Xerox 999 machine with eighth place in race 1, but he did have the satisfaction of leading the field for the opening lap of race 2 before dropping to seventh.

09 July 2007
Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) was second quickest with a time of 1m36.556s, just a fraction behind Ruben Xaus (Ducati Sterilgarda), in two days of FGSport official testing action at a scorching Vallelunga circuit on the outskirts of Rome. This was the first time most of the WSBK teams had got to grips with the 4.110 km Vallelunga track in view of the penultimate round of the championship on September 30, although the Ducati Xerox Team had already tested here back in February, when conditions were much cooler.
