LAA Charity Money Hand-Over & New LB Charity Council!

We've got two great things to announce! A big hand-over of money to the London Air Ambulance (LAA) which our members helped raise at the 2007 LB Christmas Party, and the formation of a new LB aspect, the Charity Council, a group charged with bringing great new charity fund-raising efforts to LB. For the hand-over, you're invited! We're holding it at next week's LB Borough Market Meet on the 27th. Come along!

Londonbikers & MSV Track Day At Brands Hatch

Londonbikers have hooked up with Motor Sport Vision, the owners of our own London-local World-Class circuit, Brands Hatch which based about ten miles out from Central London in Kent for a track day exclusive to Londonbikers members only. The Londonbikers/MSV track day will be held on Thursday the 29th April 2008. For those of you that have never been to Brands Hatch, it's a dream circuit and one where Londonbikers have had a few trackdays already over the last couple of years.

Stoner – Ending As He Started

The last MotoGP race of the season and World Champion Casey Stoner showed every intention of finishing the 18-round Championship in the same way as he started in Qatar way back in March. The 22 year-old Australian led both morning and afternoon practice sessions for the bwin.com Grand Prix of the Community of Valencia round the tight and demanding 2.489 miles Ricardo Tormo circuit.

Extreme Weather Causes LB Downtime

Incase you were wondering, for 24 hours yesterday, LB was down. This was due to our hosts being struck by some of the worst weather storms this country has seen in many years. Based in Gloucester, the area given live coverage on the BBC News service last night, the centre where our servers run from was assaulted by floods. The centre wasn't flooded, but for whatever reason, service could not be fulfiled and LB went offline for nearly a day. This hasn't happened before, and unfortunately our track-record of exemplorary up-time was compromised.

Breakthrough Cancer Cheque Hand-Over

Tuesday the 25th June was the first of many, where Londonbikers and 'Breakthrough to Breast Cancer' will be crossing paths over the next couple of months... Dave Barrington (Barro) officially registered Londonbikers as the lead team for this years 'Breakthrough to Breast Cancer Event' and took the oppotunity to introduce a few of the members who will be taking part to Jill Washeka, who is the Breakthrough events manager and organizer.

Welcome to the new londonbikers.com site! We've been working until the wee hours for many, many nights to get this ready for you. The new site brings a new look and cutting-edge new features. The aim is to open the site up more, make it more interesting, show our content off better and hopefully make LB more popular! The first thing to notice is there's a new look, and new style for 'londonbikers.com'. We wanted something that was brighter, stood out from the crowd more, was fresher and still had overtones of what it means to be a Londoner in it. On top of this there's a whole bunch of new content and features. Click through to find out more.

YOU Can Help Make LB Better!

Before things get sunny and warm next year, we plan on launching a new version of the site which is heavily in development, one with some new features and a fresh look. We intend on making LB The portal for bikers in and around London, a place where they can find out anything they need to know about riding, and riding in London specifically. This means we'll be doing all that we do currently but will be publishing more content on the site, content that's more relevant and more accessible to us all.

We Hold Our Second Christmas Bash and Awards Ceremony!

It’s that Festive time of year again and londonbikers.com have just thrown their second official Christmas bash, which was held at the Held at the Brazen Head Pub in Paddington on the 20th December 2006. The night was full of fun and frivolities, seeing around sixty members attend. Infinity motorcycles donated a couple of bags of goodies which were raffled off, the proceeds will go to the London Air Ambulance. The night also included the Londonbikers.com Christmas Awards Ceremony.

Londonbikers.com Shoot Charity Calendar For London Air Ambulance

Last weekend, the members and the people behind londonbikers.com took the time out of their busy schedules to take part in a charity calendar photo shoot in aid of the HEMS London Air Ambulance, londonbikers.com's official charity. All of the profits raised from the calendar will be given to the Air Ambulance, which is a vital emergency service to the people living in and around London.

Xerox Ducati's Bayliss And Lanzi's Trip To Harrods

Today, Thursday 25 May, The Ducati Xerox World Superbike Riders Troy Bayliss and Lorenzo Lanzi appeared at Harrods in Central London. The WSB riders made a special one-off guest appearance in the famous Harrods department store in Knightsbridge. Londonbikers Foxy was there bright and early to bring you these exclusive photos.

LB Hands Over Charity Money to the London Air Ambulance

LB’s Foxy, recently travelled to the helicopter pad at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, East London to meet Christine Margetts, the HEMS fundraising manager to hand over the money the LB members raised at the Christmas Party and at the Infinity night in Great Portland Street. Both events, which were held in December last year between them, raised a total of £288.68. Not bad for LB’s first donation to the charity, which comprised of collections made on the nights mentioned.

LB, in partnership with various suppliers and retailers will be starting a series of competitions to let members numerous amazing prizes. The competitions are set to be held at least once a month, though more may be introduced for special events. A dedicated area of the site has been set-up to list all the competitions. London Air Ambulance and LB Charity Partnership

LB are proud to announce that they've chosen the London Air Ambulance Service as the official LB charity partner. Today, LB’s Cezar Fenianos had a meeting with Christine Margetts and her boss, Andrew Cameron, who are both Trustee’s with the London Air Ambulance charity. Cezar was shown round the helicopter while he discussed the particulars of a partnership between LB and LAA. The meeting went very well, with all parties benefiting greatly from the new partnership.

LB Site Issues

As you may be aware, we've experienced some troubles this morning with the site, but rest assured, we're on the case and have restored all services apart from the forums. Members who log in may not be able to access the forums, but we're working on it now and hope to have it fixed soon.

LB Christmas Party & Awards Review

LB has just thrown their first ever official bash; The Christmas Party, held in the West End on the 10th of December, 2005. About fifty members attended over the evening, either to meet existing friends and have a great time, put faces to names on the site, or even just to make new friends. Our Technical Safety Partners, Adrenalin X were present to sponsor the Awards and provide raffle prizes.
