‘Lorenzo's Lands’ Livery for Jorge in Valencia

Jorge Lorenzo’s Fiat Yamaha M1 is carrying a special ‘Lorenzo’s Lands’ livery this weekend, for the final Grand Prix of the 2008 season at Valencia in Spain. The livery is the result of an initiative between the team’s title sponsor Fiat Automobiles Spa and the Italian magazine ‘Sportweek.’ A competition was launched at the start of the season in which the public were invited to submit their own designs for the bike. Named ‘Lorenzo’s Lands’, the winning design incorporates the flags of all 14 countries in which the young Spaniard has celebrated a victory during his career in the 125, 250 and MotoGP World Championships, as well as his own ‘Lorenzo’s Land’ flag.

Rossi to Race With ‘AZZURRI’ in Catalunya

Valentino Rossi’s YZR-M1 will carry a one-off livery for the Grand Prix of Catalunya this weekend in celebration of the European Football Championships, which begin on Sunday. The championship leader’s bike has been specially painted in the style of the shirts of the Italian national team, the ‘Azzurri’, ahead of their opening game against Holland on Monday. Rossi will also wear leathers designed in the same vein and even his famous number 46 has undergone a change for the weekend. The Fiat Yamaha Team rider will run the livery from first practice on Friday and it will be officially unveiled at 09:50 tomorrow morning (6th June) in pit lane at the Montmelo circuit, Catalunya.

New Livery for Suzuki Alstare in USA!

Race fans worldwide are in for a surprise when Team Suzuki Alstare take part in the sixth round of the 2008 Superbike World Championship at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah next weekend. Instead of the paint-scheme seen in the first five rounds of the championship so far, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 bikes of Fonsi Nieto, Yukio Kagayama and Max Neukirchner will feature an all new, one-off design featuring Globasol. Globasol is a company involved in the development and implementation of all kinds of renewable energy, such as photovoltaic energy, biomass and biofuel and recently presented a project for the construction on a plant in the Dominican Republic for the production of 60,000 tons of biodiesel per annum.
