Toni Bou - Repsol Montesa HRC took another win at the Grand Prix of Poland, to stretch his advantage in the 2007 championship by a further three points, to a healthy 20-point margin. Second today was again Adam Raga - Gas Gas with Albert Cabestany - Sherco Tarragona third. Bou’s team-mate Takahisa Fujinami - Repsol Montesa HRC finished the event in fourth after confusion over the amount of time left for one lap caused him to pick up two marks while Dougie Lampkin - Repsol Montesa HRC finished the event fifth. The final result did not reflect the effort put in by the three Repsol liveried riders however, the trio were holding the top three positions after the first lap.
The Japanese Repsol rider takes the second place in the overall standings after a fourth place in the last round of the season staged in the Belgium city of Spa Francorchamps. The Repsol-Montesa HRC team has achieved in its second season with the Cota 4RT 4 stroke machines the highest number of victories, five. Four were clinched by Takahisa Fujinami -who has won the largest number of races- and one by Dougie Lampkin. Moreover Montesa was able to take its ninth makes' championship title. Laia Sanz, who took her seventh women's' world championship title yesterday finished seventh in the Junior World Championship.
Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) has achieved this Saturday her seventh consecutive World Championship title in a row, after clinching the victory of the second scoring round, and with the last round of the series yet to be staged in Bréal sous Montfort (France) next Friday. With this new sports success, the Repsol-Montesa HRC rider has manager to equal the results of Jordi Tarrés y Dougie Lampkin, the two legends of this motorcycling speciality.
