Tough Racing Weekend in Assen for Rene Maehr & the RC8

Following a first impressive appearance in Valencia, Spain, which unfortunately ended in a crash, Rene Maehr suffered a difficult Superstock racing weekend in at the Dutch racing circuit in Assen and was only able to finish in sixteenth place. Even in training Rene was not 100 percent satisfied. The motorcycle had lived completely up to expectations and he felt very confident but in the deciding moments of qualifying he faced heavy and at times chaotic traffic on the circuit. He did not manage a good clean lap, finishing in only nineteenth start slot.

KTM scooped all podium places at Erzberg on Sunday in what is considered to be one of the most extreme tests for man and machine, the Red Bull Hare Scramble for single cylinder machines held on Austria's Iron Mountain.

KTM's Salminen All Powerful In Portuguese Enduro

Juha Salminen continued his unabated charge towards the E1 World Championship title winning Sunday’s race at the Portuguese Grand Prix to continue his unblemished record for the season so far. The Finn, who returned from competition in the GNCC Series in the USA to rejoin the Grand Prix circuit started the season with a flurry in Östersund, Sweden in March and with Sunday’s victory in M. Canavezes in Northern Portugal has now won all six races so far held. It doesn’t get any better than that.

KTM's Mika Kallio Fifth In 250cc at Grand Prix Of China

Red Bull KTM factory rider Mika Kallio scored his best result since moving up from the 125 cc category at the beginning of the year, battling his way through to a great fifth place in Sunday’s 250 cc race at the Grand Prix of China. After a problematic first day of practice on Friday and subsequent improvements on Saturday, race day confirmed that the team had made progress in the right direction with bike set-ups as they continue to gather both data and experience.

Salminen Continues To Dominate Enduro 1 In Portugal

KTM Motocross Team Out For Podiums And Points In Italy

The KTM Red Bull Racing Team will be chasing Motocross World Championship points and podiums at the 51st edition of the Italian GP on the Circuito Internazionale Città di Mantova this weekend. While the KTM MX1 duo of Jonathan Barragan and David Philippaerts and the MX 2 team of Tyla Rattray and young Tommy Searle are all in the top eight after three GPs so far this season, they all want to consolidate and score good results this weekend.

High Hopes For KTM Enduro Factory Team In Portugal

Flushed from early season successes, the six-man KTM Enduro Factory Team goes to northern Portugal this weekend confident and ready to race in true KTM style. As far as team boss Fabio Farioli is concerned, the only way to go is up. “I would like to see all of the guys on the podium for this round,” the Italian said before the event.

Second Place For Sébastien In Gaillac Toulza

The fourth round of the French series has been stopped after the first race, as the rain destroyed the southern track. Seb finished in second position the single race. The fourth round of the MX1 French Elite championship has been disturbed by heavy rain in Gaillac Toulza (near Toulouse), that forced the organizers to cut the track, and then to cancel the second MX1 race and the super final. Second of the single race, Sébastien lost the leadership of the series for one point!

Mixed Fortunes For KTM's Bernd Hiemer In Opening Round

Bernd Hiemer, KTM’s sole Supermoto factory rider for the 2007 racing season had mixed fortunes in the opening Grand Prix of Europe held at Castelletto di Branduzzo, Italy on Sunday. Hiemer, a rider who is never satisfied with anything short of success ended the day in overall seventh place. The German admitted after the conclusion of the day’s two races that he had got caught up in congestion at the start of the first race and during the intensive jockeying for positions in the scrum, the exhaust on his machine was damaged by the foot peg on the bike of another rider.

Salminen And Belometti Make It 1-2 For KTM In Spain

Juha Salminen on Saturday signaled his intention to dominate the E1 Class of the World Enduro Championship with a top top podium place on the first day of the Spanish Grand Prix. The Finn was joined on the podium by KTM Enduro Factory Team team-mate Alessandro Belometti of Italy for a perfect start in the E1 class at Puerto Lumbreras in the south east corner of Spain.

KTM's Hiemer Fit And Ready To Go For S1 Supermoto Season

Bernd Hiemer, KTM’s factory rider for the 2007 Supermoto season goes into the Grand Prix of Europe, the first round of the world championships in Italy this weekend, secure in the knowledge that he and his KTM 450 SMR are both ripe for victory. Hiemer, who works closely with the KTM Research and Development Department to further develop the bike, has absolved a concentrated period of testing and says that on the eve of the S1 season, that both he and his bike have “never been fitter”.

The break was a pleasant occasion for the riders who struggled through wet and muddy conditions in the second round at Bellpuig, Spain last weekend.

State-Of-The-Art Treatment For Isidre Esteve Pujol

KTM rally rider Isidre Esteve Pujul of Spain has undergone surgery to insert a special electronic device to try to encourage nerve regeneration on his severe spinal injury, sustained during a recent high speed racing crash. The 34-year old Spaniard was competing in the Spanish all-terrain championships when the crash occurred, injuring the 7th and 8th vertebrae. He has already undergone one surgery to stabilize the injured spine in the spinal unit at Vali d’Hebron hospital in Barcelona. He is presently paralyzed from the waist down.

KTM's Marc Coma dominates Tunisian Rally

KTM factory riders Marc Coma and David Casteu got off to a flying start in the World Championship taking 1-2 in the 2007 Tunisian Rally. The Spaniard’s victory was particularly sweet after he was denied a place in the 2007 Dakar classic after a crash in the final stages forced him to retire when he looked certain of snatching the top podium spot.

Operation Confirms Paralysis For KTM's Isidre Esteve Pujol

KTM factory rider Isidre Esteve Pujol of Spain underwent surgery on Friday in Barcelona, Spain to stabilize a spinal injury sustained during a high speed crash last weekend. The Spanish rider was injured while competing in the Spanish All Terrain Rally. Specialists Dr. Villanova and Dr. Meir have reported after the operation that the level of injury to the 7th and 8th vertebrae was such that the rider has suffered paralysis from the waist down. They must now wait for inflammation to subside from the spinal column to establish if any further treatment is at all possible.

Red Bull Factory Team Looks Solid For Motocross GP Season

When the KTM Red Bull Factory team rides out in Valkenswaard for the opening event of the 2007 MX GP season they will do it with an air of confidence, team solidarity and KTM machines that mean they are well equipped for continued success in the sport. Lorenzo Savadori Takes First Win

Italian Lorenzo Savadori, riding number 32, will only celebrate his 14th birthday on April 4 but that did not stop him taking victory in the first ever Red Bull Rookies Cup at Jerez Spain. Lorenzo streaked home on the Jerez circuit in the inaugural Rookies Cup race on Sunday ahead of Luis Jamie Salom of Spain and Johann Zarco of France in the 15 lap race in what was a huge experience for the budding young riders.

Breaking News - Rally
25 March 2007
KTM factory team rally rider Isidre Esteve Pujol of Spain has suffered severe injuries from a high speed crash while competing in the Spanish All Terrain Rally. Spanish doctors have confirmed that the 34-year-old Dakar Rally competitor has severe injuries to the seventh vertebrae and a number of broken ribs, one of which punctured a lung. Initially the rider’s injuries were life threatening but he is now out of danger and able to speak, according to Pit Beirer, KTM Offroad Racing Director.
