KTM MX3 factory rider Sven Breugelmans of the JM Racing team finished overall fourth in Sunday's MX3 podium in Slovenia's Orehova Vas but his main rival Christian Beggi finished way back in the field. Breugelmans has now established a 23-point lead in the championships after 10 of 16 rounds.
Jonathan Barragan, Spain's MX1 rider for the KTM-supported Team Silver Action stood in for the injured Alvaro Lozano of the JM Racing Team at the MX3 Grand Prix in Alhama de Murcia on Sunday and came away with victories in both motos. Barragan, riding Lozano's KTM machine, said after qualifying that he had a "good feeling" and hoped to finish in the top three. That was no problem for the experienced Spanish rider. Clearly at home in front of his own crowd, he romped home with impressive winning margins in both the first and the second heat of Round Six of the MX3 world championship.
Italy hosted the third FIM MX3 World Championship event this weekend. It was a sunny event, that brought the biggest success to the home rider Cristian Beggi from Honda Martin Racing Team. There were two exciting starts in MX3 World Championship race. In the first race Belgian Sven Breugelmans (KTM) took the lead. He started very fast and got quite a big advantage. But home rider Cristian Beggi (Honda) became more and more closer. Beggi started to make pressure on Breugelmans and finally he passed him. Breugelmans started to indulge and Beggi was englaring his advantage. We saw the first surprise this season. Czech rider Martin Michek finished third in the first race, with a very good riding. He was close to the Breugelmans all the time.
