Searle Tops MX2 Podium

Red Bull KTM factory rider Tommy Searle stopped the hearts of all spectators of the second MX2 moto in Sevielo, Bulgaria on Sunday when he swept past fellow KTM rider Shaun Simpson in the last seconds of the race to take the top podium spot in the GP. On a day when rain fell to soften the hard track and reshuffle the cards just before the second MX2 moto, Red Bull KTM's Tyla Rattray made a good comeback from a tussle with Toni Cairoli in the second moto to finish overall second. Shaun Simpson was on the podium for the first time in third place to complete a complete clean sweep of the podium for KTM.

Barragan Denied Victory in Last Minutes in Bulgaria

KTM Team Silver Action rider Jonathan Barragan looked certain to take victory in the second moto and seal his MX1 Grand Pix win in Sevlievo, Bulgaria on Sunday when a mistake in the last stretch of race two denied him the overall victory. On a day where rain fell before the second race to create a whole different set of conditions on the normally hard packed track, the Spanish KTM rider did go on to be second overall to rescue a podium place and pick up more valuable championship points.

Difficult Superstock Weekend for KTM in Monza

The first appearance of the KTM Maehr Superstock Team on the traditional Monza racing circuit came to a premature end three laps into the race when Rene Mähr had shut down his RC8 and return to the pits. The newly formed team and their talented rider Rene Maehr already experienced some difficulty with the KTM 1190 RC8 during training for the third race in the FIM Superstock 1000 World Cup on the spirited and legendary racing circuit at Monza. The bike was launched in the spring of 2008 and KTM and the team have declared their first season on the racing circuit as one in which to learn and to gain experience.

Sven Breugelmans Wins Round Four MX3 World Championship

KTM factory rider Sven Breugelmans of Belgium came home strongly in the two motos of the fourth round of the MX3 World Championship in Plomion in France to finish third and first and take the top podium spot for the day. Riding for the JM Racing Team, Sven was third in the first moto but lacked a little feeling and rhythm. But after consultations with team boss Jacky Martens in between the two heats he went out hard and fast in the second. He was second at the start behind teammate Alvaro Lozano and made one small mistake.

Raffaele de Rosa Top KTM Rider in China

Racing on a damp and tricky surface in the 125 cc race of the Grand Prix of China, Team Onde 2000 KTM rider Raffaele de Rosa established himself in the top five but crashed in the thirteenth lap. He then finished in ninth to be the top KTM rider. Repsol KTM riders Esteve Rabat and Marc Marquez fought hard against each other to finish in eleventh and twelfth position, ISPA KTM Aran rider Tomoyoshi Koyama was the fourth KTM 125 rider within the point rankings in thirteenth place.

Double Victory for Mika Kallio & Hiroshi Aoyama

Red Bull KTM 250 stars Mika Kallio and Hiroshi Aoyama mastered treacherous conditions in today's wet Grand Prix of China to score a fantastic double victory for KTM. It was the second one-two for the Austrian manufacturer in the 250 cc category after Aoyama won the German Grand Prix last year ahead of his team-mate. Pole-sitter Alvaro Bautista had established an early lead, but when the young Spaniard crashed out on the ninth lap of the race, Kallio had a clear track ahead and rode to a comfortable win despite increasing grip problems on the drying tarmac.

Front Row Start for Mika Kallio & Julian Simon

In a thrilling final qualifying session for tomorrow's Chinese Grand Prix, Repsol KTM 250 rider Julian Simon moved up to fourth place, celebrating his first ever front row starting position with his new machine. The 21-year-old Spanish hero, who graduated as a top GP contender in the official KTM 125 team two years ago, and returned to the Austrian brand after gaining his first year of 250 cc experience in another team, will start alongside star in third position. The 25-year-old Finn, current world championship leader with one victory and three podium finishes in the opening three races of the season, established himself firmly within the top riders in China on the first day of practice, but missed out on an even better practice time when the slid off the track on his last run on softer tyres in today's final qualifying session.

Before the start of the Central Europe Rally, many people were convinced this new rally would offer the best opportunity to finally break the dominance of the KTM Rally bikes. Short distances, tracks more suitable to enduro bikes and easy navigation. Despite these ingredients KTM choose to race the 690 Rally Bike, and the results proved them right.

Pourcel & Cairoli Win Portuguese Thriller at Agueda

The Portuguese Grand Prix got underway today in front of 18000 fans who saw two Italians David Philippaerts (MX1) and Antonio Cairoli (MX2) clinch the World Championship lead at the end of an eventful weekend. The MX1 Grand Prix was won by Sebastien Pourcel, to close a perfect weekend as he clocked also the pole yesterday. Philippaerts was second overall while countryman Cairoli won the MX2 Grand Prix from KTM fellow riders Tyla Rattray and Tommy Searle.

French Riders Took First Positions in Italy

The third event for EMX2 European Championship was in Italy. French Valentin Teillet got the podium, again. It was the third podium for seventeen years old KTM rider this season. He won the race with second place and the victory, although it was not the race track that he would like very much. First race was won by Arnaud Tonus (KTM) from Switzerland. Teillet was close to the victory. He finished only three seconds after Tonus. The winner of the last event, French rider Loic Larrieu finished third. The best home rider in the first race was Pier Filippo Bertuzzo on the fourth position, but he did not make good overall result because he finished the second race already in the first lap.

Tough Racing Weekend in Assen for Rene Maehr & the RC8

Following a first impressive appearance in Valencia, Spain, which unfortunately ended in a crash, Rene Maehr suffered a difficult Superstock racing weekend in at the Dutch racing circuit in Assen and was only able to finish in sixteenth place. Even in training Rene was not 100 percent satisfied. The motorcycle had lived completely up to expectations and he felt very confident but in the deciding moments of qualifying he faced heavy and at times chaotic traffic on the circuit. He did not manage a good clean lap, finishing in only nineteenth start slot.

Max Nagl Struggles with Sun in Portugal

Double Victory for Italian Cristian Beggi

Italy hosted the third FIM MX3 World Championship event this weekend. It was a sunny event, that brought the biggest success to the home rider Cristian Beggi from Honda Martin Racing Team. There were two exciting starts in MX3 World Championship race. In the first race Belgian Sven Breugelmans (KTM) took the lead. He started very fast and got quite a big advantage. But home rider Cristian Beggi (Honda) became more and more closer. Beggi started to make pressure on Breugelmans and finally he passed him. Breugelmans started to indulge and Beggi was englaring his advantage. We saw the first surprise this season. Czech rider Martin Michek finished third in the first race, with a very good riding. He was close to the Breugelmans all the time.

David Casteu First Winner of the Central Europe Rally

A ‘moment supreme'! It was a memorable day for David Casteu at the shores of Lake Balaton. All he had to do in the last stage was to keep an eye on his main (and only) rival Francisco Lopez to make sure victory was his. And that's just what he did. It's David's first win in rally-raid, who's in his fourth season riding for KTM. He was drenched with champagne thanks to Alain Duclos and Francisco Lopez, when he came off the podium.

Ratteray-Cairoli Wrestle Set for Toda’s Portuguese GP

It was a great opening day in Agueda, the host of the third Grand Prix of 2008 which welcomed the Motocross collective with very hot weather conditions. Sebastien Pourcel clocked a stunning pole position in the MX1 class, collecting his second consecutive Lovemytime Pole Position Award after his first pole of 2008 in Spain last weekend. Tyla Rattray is also on a season high, winning his third consecutive qualifying heat and bringing home the Lovemytime Qualifying Award together with his closest rival in the Championship, Antonio Cairoli, who won the qualifying moto one to get his first win of 2008.

The competitors woke up yesterday morning with a clear sky and a very comfortable temperature. After the start from the Heroes'Square a liaison of 58 kilometer was scheduled. Cyril Despres was the first bike to ride of the podium.
