Clutch Failure Costs Chance Of More Points For Roberts
17 September 2007
Kurtis Roberts had a short afternoon at today's Portuguese GP, pulling in after two of 28 laps of the 4.182-km Estoril circuit outside Lisbon with a slipping clutch that robbed him of any chance of finishing the race. With only 13 finishers, the younger son of a legend would have been certain of adding to his points score, and in the first lap he had already improved on his starting position, moving through to 18th place. But by then Roberts was already having trouble with clutch slip, and when there was no improvement, he was obliged to pull in.

No Glory In Home Grand Prix
25 July 2007
Kurtis Roberts failed to finish him home grand prix when teething problems hit the brand new Team Roberts KR212V which was making its debut at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. In only six short weeks, Team Roberts designed, manufactured, and built a second generation KR212V. There were 210 new parts, 54 of which were manufactured at the team's headquarters in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Many of the parts, including the chassis, were brought as luggage to the circuit in the hills of Monterey, the site of many of team owner Kenny Roberts' greatest triumphs, both as a rider and team owner.
