Toseland And Muggeridge Take Front Row Starts At Magny Cours
08 October 2006
James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda) scored his best lap of the weekend to earn a place on the front row at the final round of the 2006 season. His 1'39.355 lap was the second best overall, as Troy Corser scored pole. Crucially, Toseland's rival for overall second in the championship, Noriyuki Haga, was only fifth fastest, and now starts from one row behind Toseland. James is two points ahead of Haga currently, and only has to keep his nose ahead of the Japanese rider in the 23-lap races to secure second in the final points standings.

Toseland Second Fastest In Peculiar Magny-Cours Conditions
06 October 2006
James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda) made a very positive start to the final round of the championship, running out second fastest at the same circuit he won the 2004 title on, despite concentrating more on machine set-up for race conditions than going for a single blitzing lap. The track was wet in the first session and delivered less grip than during a recent test in the timed session in the afternoon. Toseland is out to score an overall second in the championship in 2006, and a grandstand battle is promised, as his rival for that placing was the quickest rider on day one, Noriyuki Haga.

Objective Second In The Championship For Toseland
05 October 2006
Now that the champion has been crowned, the Winston Ten Kate Honda Team hopes to be able to finish the season overall second in the world standings, courtesy of James Toseland. At the Magny Cours circuit, the English rider will have the opportunity to secure the runner-up spot, rounding out a season that always featured the Dutch team and James battling for the positions that really count. James will have to defend and extend the two-point advantage he has over Noriyuki Haga, but it is not his intention to make too many calculations. His objective is to achieve more victories. He has already taken two race wins, one in Qatar and one in Germany. It is the last chance of the season for Karl Muggeridge, on the other side of the Ten Kate garage, to step on the podium. The Australian has been riding well in the last few races and he is determined to score an important result for his team.

Toseland And Muggeridge Ready To End The Season On A High
27 September 2006
The penultimate World Superbike Championship round is about to be held at Imola, on the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit, only one week before the season finale at Magny Cours, France. This stage of the season sees the Winston Ten Kate Honda Team in the role of one of the main championship protagonists, thanks to the efforts of James Toseland. The English rider, having won the most recent race in Germany, is still fighting to secure second position in the championship and Imola is an ideal track to make his decisive attack - and the circuit will also offer opportunities to Karl Muggeridge. Until now fortune has not smiled on him too often, but the Australian rider is back to good form as he aims to step on the podium for the first time this year, on a track which has previous delivered him two World Supersport Championship race wins.

Toseland Nets A Front Row Start At Lausitz
10 September 2006
Having qualified tenth in the combined sessions, James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda) showed all his battling qualities in Superpole to earn a hard-won front row start, from third, for Sunday’s 24-lap Superbike races. He improved on his previous best time in a full qualifying session by more than a second and was comfortably faster than his previous best on qualifying rubber this afternoon to boot. James’ team-mate, Karl Muggeridge (Winston Ten Kate Honda), who had out qualified Toseland after the two official timed sessions, made a small error in the first split during Superpole and that cost him enough to drop him to ninth position on the grid, offering him a third row start.

Muggeridge And Toseland On Provisional Second Row
08 September 2006
But for late session traffic on the Lausitz circuit Karl Muggeridge (Winston Ten Kate Honda) may have ended day one of qualifying on the provisional front row, and not the second, but fifth overall on the first official time sheets demonstrated the pace at which Muggeridge has adapted to the tight and twisty Lausitz circuit. James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda) experienced some technical obstacles in the early stages, but still qualified eighth fastest on his number two machine.

Toseland Ready To Defend His Second Position
07 September 2006
Not withstanding that the Assen race didn’t go quite how the Winston Ten Kate Honda Team hoped, the Dutch race delivered an important result: second position in the World Championship standings for James Toseland. This is the primary objective for the tough English rider for the last three rounds of the season; going out to defend his overall second, starting off by aiming for two podium placings in Germany. The team also expects a good performance from Karl Muggeridge, who is looking for his first podium of the season. The Australian rider was unlucky in Assen race 1, when he slipped on the wet track while he was in fourth position, but fortunately there were no resultant injuries. On Sunday the Eurospeedway races will give him a chance to step up to at least one plateau of the German podiums.

Toseland Regains Second In The Championship At Changeable Assen
04 September 2006
With heavy rain in race one and a drying track in race two Assen presented two different challenges to the Winston Ten Kate Honda team and despite some bad luck James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda CBR1000RR) left his team’s home race second in the championship standings. Karl Muggeridge (Winston Ten Kate Honda CBR1000RR) was once more a challenger for a podium place, but misfortune also left him down the order.

02 September 2006
Karl Muggeridge (Winston Ten Kate Honda) put in a blitzing personal weekend best lap in Superpole at Assen, securing sixth place on the grid, one place ahead of his team-mate James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda). Muggeridge had a more incident free Superpole lap than his fellow squad member, after qualifying tenth in regulation qualifying, and thus edged him out by only 0.022 seconds. Toseland, who was second fastest on race tyres after the two pre-Superpole qualifying sessions, had to survive a few moments in his single flying lap of the new-look Assen, finishing seventh fastest.

The new-look Assen was a new challenge to all the Superbike riders, with Karl Muggeridge (Winston Ten Kate Honda) tenth overall, and well inside Superpole qualifying - should the second qualifying session on Saturday morning prove to be wet.

Home Race Weekend Begins For Ten Kate
31 August 2006
It will be, without a single doubt, a special race for the Winston Ten Kate Honda Team this weekend. With the latest SBK weekend being held in Assen, Holland, it can be considered a home race in all respects for the Team, under the management of Ronald Ten Kate. During this forthcoming weekend we will see an SBK race on the modified circuit for the first time, on a track with reduced length and, in part, a modified philosophy in the approach to a track which has ever been considered the temple of the racing motorcycle. But the Winston Ten Kate Honda men are ready for this new challenge and both James Toseland and Karl Muggeridge will start out with lofty ambitions. There is a weight of expectation on their shoulders, after the results that were achieved at Assen last year, when the Dutch team secured a fantastic double win with Chris Vermeulen. Both riders are in good form currently and are expected to be fully competitive in the two Superbike races on Sunday.
