Yamaha Riders Aim for Victory at Favoured Venue
2 Days ago
As the five-week summer break in the World Superbike Championship calendar comes to an end this coming weekend at Donington Park, Noriyuki Haga and Troy Corser (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) will each have particularly good recent memories to draw on. Haga won race two at this classic venue last year and Corser scored a double podium, each riding for the current Yamaha squad. In fact the Donington circuit has played a pivotal role in each rider's career in their early years of international competition and more recently. Haga came to European prominence with his first ever double win at Donington in April 1998, again while riding for Yamaha. He now has 30 WSB race wins to his credit, four of them so far in 2008. Corser's first WSB race weekend in Europe took place at Donington way back in 1994, he scored a race two podium in that event. After almost 300 rides in WSB Troy now has 33 WSB race wins to his credit and a quite remarkable 123 podium finishes.

Haga & Corser Ready for More Brands Success
30 July 2008
Noriyuki Haga and Troy Corser (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) are no strangers to the podium in the World Superbike Championship, Corser having taken 122 career top three finishes and Haga 82. As their winning records show, each of Yamaha's lead 2008 season riders has a special affinity with Brands Hatch, having scored seven race wins between them at the sinuous and flowing English circuit. Corser is sitting in overall third in the points' standings after a Brno race weekend that placed him second and then fourth. Corser's pre-Brands confidence is boosted by the fact that he is currently only 12 points behind the second place rider, Max Neukirchner.

Strong Second for Roberts
21 July 2008
Brendan Roberts now leads the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup by one single point after a stunning ride at Brno in the Czech Republic, finishing second in the 12-lap race behind Max Berger. Roberts riding the 1098R for the Ducati Xerox Junior Team rode an extremely thoughtful race to take a confident second place, 0.05 in front of Alessandro Polita. Roberts who qualified on pole position on the Ducati was eager to secure a strong result at round six of the fiercely fought out series. The young Australian got a terrible start and was sitting in seventh position into the first corner, he worked his way through to fifth by the end of the opening lap and was keen to get in the mix and fight for a podium position despite the poor start.

Cock o’ the North Road Races
16 July 2008
It’s 111 wins and counting for Ian Lougher following the conclusion of the annual Cock o’ the North Road Races at Scarborough. Lougher was at his superb best round the historic Oliver’s Mount circuit and his dominance was such, that he was one victory short of achieving a 100% record in every race he contested. The honour of the most wins at Oliver’s Mount goes to the experienced Welshman and following the first day’s action on Saturday it was easy to see why, as he blasted his way to five wins from five starts. Ian was successful in both Superbike races on the team’s Yamaha R1 Superbike, he then followed this up with victory in the 600cc race on the impressive Team Blackhorse Yamaha Supersport R6 and then showed his renowned versatility by taking victory in the 125cc and 250cc events on the Barnes Racing machines to take his tally to 108 wins.

Fourth for Roberts in Misano
03 July 2008
Despite a serious groin injury, which required five stitches, Brendan Roberts fought through the pain barrier to finish fourth in the FIM 1000 Superstock Cup round at Misano at the weekend. The young Australian crashed heavily during free practice on Friday morning and sustained injuries, which required stitches on Saturday evening. Not letting this trouble him too much Roberts still managed to qualify in fourth position on the grid for the 14-lap race. Using the same gearing he used at Nurbergring a couple of weeks ago Roberts was unable to get the Ducati 1098 R off the line and fell back to seventh place after the opening lap. Avoiding the melee of first lap incidents he soon got his head down and was working his way back through the field. Eager to narrow the margin between him and Championship leader Simeon, who was also riding injured. Roberts knew that he had to finish ahead of his nearest rival.

Corser & Haga Take Winning Form to San Marino
26 June 2008
After incredible rides at the Nürburgring in Germany both Noriyuki Haga and Troy Corser (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) will be relishing another chance to compete for top honours at Round 8 of the World Superbike Championship at the Misano circuit on the Adriatic coast of Italy this weekend. Despite suffering from a broken right collarbone, plated and pinned before the Nürburgring race, Haga won both races in the German round, only just beating his team-mate Corser in race two. Arguably Corser looked favourite for the win until the track surface started to become wet, but it was still a miracle for Haga to be anywhere near a double win so soon after his big crash in America.

Win for Roberts at Nürbergring

This places the youngster in second place in the overall Championship standings. Roberts riding for the Ducati Xerox Junior Team looked extremely strong throughout the weekend at the 5.1-km circuit. After a number of changes were made to the circuit he was eager to make an impression and did just that throughout the weekend. A strong start from the Australian saw him sitting in second place into the tight first corner and he was led by Davide Giugliano and was being hunted down by Championship leader Xavier Simeon. The trio were dicing with each other throughout the 11-lap race were swapping positions at various stages through the race.
