Recently-crowned World Endurance Champions Suzuki Endurance Racing Team is on pole for tomorrow's final round of the Qtel FIM 2008 World Endurance Championship in Qatar. Team Riders Mathieu Lagrive, Julien Da Costa - and SERT 2 rider Guillaume Dietrich, who was drafted into the squad for this race - topped the timesheets with a combined lap time of 2:02.725.

Suzuki Wins World Endurance Championship!

Suzuki has clinched the 2008 World Endurance Championship at the penultimate round, the Bol d'Or in France this afternoon. Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT) riders Vincent Philippe, Mathieu Lagrive and Julien Da Costa raced their GSX-R1000 to their fourth consecutive title by leading from start to finish in the fifth-round 24-hour event to beat SERT's second team by six laps.

SERT Extends Endurance Lead

Defending World Endurance Champions Suzuki Endurance Racing Team have extended their lead in the 2008 championship by taking victory at the 6 Horas Nocturnas de Albacete in Spain. Vincent Philippe, Julien Da Costa and Guillaume Dietrich race their GSX-R1000 to a two-lap victory ahead of Spanish privateers Josep Sarda, Kenny Noyes and Bernat Martinez of the Suzuki Catala team and Bolliger Switzerland's David Morillon, Patric Muff and Horst Saiger.

Doha 8 Hours – Qatar Awaits The Final Race Of The 2007 Season

The Doha 8 Hours, the final leg of the 2007 QMMF Endurance FIM World Championship, will roar into action on Saturday 10th November at the Losail circuit in Qatar. This final race of the year also marks an important precedent, as it will be the first ever Endurance World Championship race staged at Losail. The international circuit is 5.4km in length and was built in 2004 in the desert close to Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Yamaha GMT 94 Claims Bol d’Or

The Yamaha GMT 94 of David Checa, Sébastien Gimbert and Olivier Four won the race by seven laps ahead of the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team 1, and ten laps ahead of the Suzuki SERT 2 in an incredibly tight race. This is the first race victory for the GMT 94, who were World Endurance Champions in 2004 in this event. Despite the Suzuki 1 missing out on race victory, the SERT team has won the QMMF Endurance World Championship 2007. With the Kawasaki no.11, second in the World Championship classification, not finishing the race, the Suzuki no. 1 has an advantage of 60 points enabling them to claim the World title before the last event, the Doha 8 Hours in Qatar in November.

Suzuki Clinches Endurance Title

Suzuki has won the 2007 World Endurance Championship after finishing second at the Bol d'Or 24 Hour race at Magny Cours in France. Defending Champions Suzuki Endurance Racing Team - Vincent Philippe, Matthieu Lagrive and Julien da Costa - recovered from a crash five hours into the penultimate and fifth round, which put them down in 40th position, to fight back into second place behind race winners Yamaha GMT 94 as the GSX-R1000 riders' closest championship rivals Kawasaki France retired during the night.

Suzuki Set For Albacete 6 Hours

Defending World Endurance Champions SERT are looking to take control of this year's series at this weekend's second round in Spain following their second place at the opening round at Le Mans in France. GSX-R1000-mounted Vincent Philippe, Matthieu Lagrive and Julien Da Costa head a field of 42 teams - 20 permanent series competitors and 22 others - for the Albacete 6 Hours which starts at 18.00hrs on Saturday.

Suzuki Castrol Top Bol D’Or Qualifying

Suzuki Castrol’s number two team rider Julien da Costa has taken pole position on his GSX-R1000 for tomorrow’s final-round Bol d’Or World Endurance Championship round in France. Amid persistent rain throughout the day, World Champions Suzuki Castrol’s Vincent Philippe was fastest in the first group of riders on the track in the morning session with a time of 2:02.059. In the second group, da Costa went faster with a 2:00.841 to beat National Motos Honda's Olivier Four on 2:01.566.
