Today was the end of the 2006 MotoGP World Championship, on the Ricardo Tormo circuit of Valencia. Unfortunately, both Pramac D’Antin MotoGP riders went out of the track during the race. In the Championship Final Classification, Alex Hofmann closed in 17th position with 30 points, while his Team mate, Jose Luis Cardoso, concluded in 20th position with 10 points.

The Pramac D’Antin Team Is Ready For The Last Race

Tomorrow, the last race of the 2006 season will take place on the Ricardo Tormo circuit of Valencia. During the qualifying practice session, Alex Hofmann and Jose Luis Cardoso classified themselves respectively in 17th and 18th position. A race at home that will surely be very emotional for the whole Pramac D’Antin MotoGP Team, willing to end the season with a good result. After the warm-up, the race of the premier-class will start at 2:00pm.

First Practice For The Pramac D’Antin Team At Valencia

The first sessions of free practice were held on the Ricardo Tormo circuit of Valencia. This is the final round of the 2006 MotoGP World Championship and also the most expected one. In Spain, where the atmosphere is always fantastic, the Pramac D’Antin MotoGP Team is at home and want to make a good result to end the season in the best way. Alex Hofmann classified himself 18th at the end of the first day; while his Team mate, Jose Luis Cardoso, is 19th. Tomorrow, there will be another session of free practice, before the single qualifying practice session at 2:00pm.

The Pramac D’Antin Team Meets The America’s Cup Team Shosholoza

A particular and emotional day for Alex Hofmann and Jose Luis Cardoso. The two riders of the Team Pramac D’Antin MotoGP met the South African Team Shosholoza, the youngest of the twelve teams that will compete in the upcoming and prestigious America’s Cup. The Shosholoza basecamp, situated in the Valencia Port, is where Hofmann and Cardoso lived the great experience of sailing on the RSA 83 Yacht of the South African Team. The two riders, at Valencia for the last race of the 2006 MotoGP World Championship this weekend at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, were welcomed in an exceptional manner by Sports Director Tommaso Chieffi, who introduced them to the whole Team. Both teams exchanged their official shirts before taking part in a race simulation on the official yacht of Team Shosholoza. Hofmann and Cardoso both had a specific duty onboard and experienced unforgettable emotions during this race simulation. Alex Hofmann, who already has sailing experience and a license, took the chance to talk about technical details with the Boat Captain Tim Kroeger, the only German on the Team, in his second America’s Cup.

The final round of the 2006 season of the MotoGP World Championship will be this weekend on the Spanish track of Ricardo Tormo at Valencia. It is the 17th race for the MotoGP class and the Team Pramac D’Antin MotoGP will be racing at home. The Team is really motivated and will make the maximum to end the season in a positive way. For Alex Hofmann, the aim is to conquest the “Top Ten”, after the good result obtained in Portugal; while Jose Luis Cardoso, wants to get more points, on a track he knows very well. The first free practice session will be on Friday 27th October at 10:00am.

The Portuguese GP has seen both riders of the Team Pramac D’Antin MotoGP end the race in the points with their Ducati Desmosedici GP06 “Sat.”. The German Alex Hofmann rode constantly with a great rhythm during the whole race. 11th at the arrival, he conquered 5 points, really deserved by himself and the whole Team; while the Spanish Jose Luis Cardoso Passed under the chequered flag in 14th position, obtaining 2 points. The Team is now ready to face the last round of the 2006 MotoGP World Championship with the same determination, in two weeks on the Ricardo Tormo Circuit at Valencia, Spain.

The single session of qualifying practice reserved to the MotoGP class on the Portuguese circuit of Estoril was held in good weather conditions. The two riders of the Team Pramac D’Antin MotoGP, the German Alex Hofmann and the Spanish Jose Luis Cardoso, despite some difficulties in the definition of the ideal set-up of their Ducati Desmosedici GP06 “Sat.” with Dunlop tyres, qualified themselves respectively in 18th and 19th position and are ready to make their maximum during the 28 laps of tomorrow’s competition. The race will start tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. (GMT+1).

The whole Team Pramac D’Antin MotoGP worked with big engagement during the first day of free practice on the Portuguese circuit of Estoril, which track has recently been resurfaced in some parts. Both riders are very motivated to finish the 2006 season in the best way, Alex Hofmann and Jose Luis Cardoso, respectively 18th and 20th after the first practice sessions, mainly concentrated themselves on the search of the best set-up for the Ducati Desmosedici GP 06“Sat.”. The Pramac D’Antin MotoGP riders faced the Japanese Grand Prix with the maximum care on their Ducati Desmosedici GP6 “Sat”. After a good start and 24 laps to the maximum, Alex Hofmann ended the race in 16th position, close to the points’ area. Jose Luis Cardoso, despite the big motivation he showed, didn’t finish the race as he went out of track during the second lap.

Alex Hofmann classified himself in twentieth position at the end of the Qualifying Practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix, actually closing this long Asiatic tour. Alex Hofmann finished with the 17th fastest laptime at the end of a difficult qualifying session at the Australian Gran Prix. The German rider, who had problems with all of his qualifying tires, wasn’t able to complete a full, fast lap, but is confident in his consistent race pace to score points once again. Alex Hofmann finished 15th after a difficult race where he gave, as always, his maximum. The German rider once again finished with a points paying position. Jose Luis Cardoso, after a hard and hot day, finished 17th with his Ducati Desmosedici GP06 “Sat”. Both Pramac D’Antin Riders suffered from a lack of grip that hindered their performance. The next race will be in Australia at the Phillip Island circuit in just one week, on the 17th of September.

The qualifying session of the thirteenth round of the 2006 MotoGP World Championship in Sepang was cancelled due to safety reasons created by extremely heavy rainstorms. Race Direction made the decision to line up the riders on the grid according to the riders’ fastest lap times from the three Free Practice sessions which were held yesterday and today.
