HM Plant Honda Applauds ‘Awesome’ Fans

Heavy snow today at Brands Hatch led to the cancellation of the first round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. The weather took a turn for the worse in the morning at around 7am before the day’s schedule had even begun. With heavy snow falling, by 11.15am the decision was taken by race control in concert with circuit owners/promoters MotorSport Vision to cancel the day’s proceedings and re-schedule the race weekend for 10th-11th May

Brands Hatch BSB Abandoned Today

Extensive snowfalls at Brands Hatch this morning have caused the opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike championship to be abandoned. At 11.15am Sunday morning Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of MotorSport Vision, the owner of Brands Hatch, announced that following a review of circuit conditions and the latest forecast, the meeting would be canceled for the day.

THINK! Renews BSB Sponsorchip & Relaunches The Motorcycle Academy

THINK!, the Department for Transport’s (DfT) road safety initiative, has signed up for a fifth consecutive year as a sponsor of the 2008 Bennetts British Superbike (BSB) Championship. The season, which kicks off at Brands Hatch on the 5th April will see a re-launched, interactive THINK! Motorcycle Academy, on-site at every BSB race to inform and entertain fans. The sponsorship - supported by on-site activity in the form of the THINK! Motorcycle Academy Unit - has been welcomed by BSB riders and fans who see the campaign as a positive and effective way of educating and informing motorcyclists about road safety. To maximise the campaign’s effectiveness the 2008 THINK! Motorcycle Academy will be more interactive than ever, combining important safety messages with fun and entertaining features such as top rider interviews, all the latest 2008 Superbikes on display, interactive computer pods, a Honda rider simulator and a BSB photo studio.

Bennetts Confirmed As Title Sponsor Of BSB

The world’s leading domestic Superbike series will continue to be known as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship for the fourth consecutive year. The UK’s premier bike insurance provider has agreed a title sponsorship deal of the series with new championship rights holders MotorSport Vision.

MotorSport Vision Takes Over BSB Championship

The World’s premier domestic motorcycle racing championship is in safe hands with the news that Jonathan Palmer’s MotorSport Vision Company has signed a ten year agreement with the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board to be responsible for the organisation and promotion of the British Superbike Championship with immediate effect. The championship has, since its re-launch in its current form in 1996, not only revitalised motorcycle racing in the UK with innovative promotions and television coverage but it has also played a key role in the career paths of riders, among them Troy Bayliss, Neil Hodgson and James Toseland, who subsequently graduated to World Champions, while others such as Shane Byrne moved into MotoGP.
