KTM rider Jonathan Barragan of Team Silver Action and Red Bull KTM factory rider Max Nagl rounded off a near perfect day for KTM at Nelstpruit South Africa snatching the top two overall places in the MX1 GP. The two riders onboard the KTM machines duplicated the MX2 GP results making the trip to the Southern Hemisphere well worthwhile for the Austrian manufacturer.

Both KTM factory riders Max Nagl and Jonathan Barragan were on top of their game in Nelspruit, South African on Saturday coming in second and third behind Steve Ramon of Belgium in Time Practice ahead of Sunday's MX1 Grand Prix of South Africa.

KTM riders continued their charge for glory and podium places in the MX1 GP in Uddevala, Sweden on Sunday with KTM rider Jonathan Barragan scoring a 1-2 result in the two motos in rugged and muddy conditions.

Successful British MXGP for KTM

KTM rider Jonathan Barragan was celebrating last night after taking the overall win in the MX1 Grand Prix of Britain on Sunday after he was third and first in the two individual motos.
The Spanish rider from the KTM supported Team Silver Action was in brilliant form on the man made track at Mallory Park, the first time the MX World Championships had competed on the varied and technically challenging circuit.

A perfect Grand Prix of Great Britain got underway at the brand new facility of Mallory Park, with a massive crowd of 41,000 people showing up to see the best Motocross series in the world which will come back to the Island on September 28th for the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations at Donington Park. Jonathan Barragan took his maiden MX1 victory today in dry conditions while Antonio Cairoli won the MX2 Grand Prix to take also the red plate. Peter Iven took a clean sweep at round two of the Veterans’ World Cup winning both heats and storming to the top of the standings.

FIM MX World Championship Discovers Mallory Park

Great Britain will play host to the sixth round of the FIM Motocross World series this weekend on the brand new course at Mallory Park, which was built inside the famous road racing facility. David Philippaerts leads the MX1 standings since the Portuguese Grand Prix while Tyla Rattray and Tony Cairoli are still battling tooth and nail for the MX2 lead, currently owned by the South African. In occasion of the British Grand Prix, the FIM Veterans’ Motocross World Cup will restart with the second of three rounds. Dutchman Toine van Dijk leads the points standings after Spain with home rider and last year’s Cup winner Dave Thorpe ready to fight back.

MX3 – Barragan with Pole Position

Sixth event for FIM MX3 World Championship is taking place in Spain this weekend. Home MX1 GP rider Jonathan Barragan Nevado got the pole position for tomorrow's race. While Alvaro Lozano from KTM JM Racing Team is injured, Barragan will replace him at home event in Alhama de Murcia. He was competing here for many times and likes this race track.

Nagl Wins Second MX1 Heat at Italian GP

Red Bull KTM factory rider Max Nagl of Germany was on top form in the second race of the MX1 Grand Prix of Italy in Mantova on Sunday to be first past the checkered flag ahead of David Philippaerts and Marc de Reuver. On a day where rain attacked the track in the second half of the MX1 competition, Nagl put in one of his most impressive performances for the current season for overall fifth place on the day. It was a significant improvement on his twelfth ranking in the first race and the first time since joining the MX1 class that he had lead the rest of the field home.

After visiting Sevlievo, the FIM Motocross World FIM Motocross World series including the MX1, MX2 and the Women riders will head to Mantova, Italy, for the fifth meeting of the 15 races calendar –second meeting of the five races calendar for the Women World Championship. MX1 rider David Philippaerts enters the Lovemytime Grand Prix of Italy, his home Grand Prix, as the series leader and the winner of the latest Grand Prix, while countryman Antonio Cairoli will try to get the MX2 red plate back from current leader Tyla Rattray.

Philippaerts Takes First Yamaha Win to Build on Championship Lead

A fantastic Grand Prix of Bulgaria took place today under mixed weather conditions, with sun and rain showers falling throughout the whole day, making the track more slippery for the second heats. The event was attended by 27000 spectators enjoying the show on this incredible venue, which won the best organizer awards in 2006 and 2007. MX1 Championship leader David Philippaerts kept the red plate by winning this fourth Grand Prix of the season while Tommy Searle won the MX2 overall with team mate Tyla Rattray getting the red plate back. The two mounted on an all KTM podium which was completed by Shaun Simpson.

Barragan Denied Victory in Last Minutes in Bulgaria

KTM Team Silver Action rider Jonathan Barragan looked certain to take victory in the second moto and seal his MX1 Grand Pix win in Sevlievo, Bulgaria on Sunday when a mistake in the last stretch of race two denied him the overall victory. On a day where rain fell before the second race to create a whole different set of conditions on the normally hard packed track, the Spanish KTM rider did go on to be second overall to rescue a podium place and pick up more valuable championship points.

FIM MX World Champioship Back to Work at Sevlievo

Following a week break from Grand Prix racing, the fourth round of the 2008 series will get underway this weekend at the beautiful circuit of Sevlievo, in Bulgaria. The first meeting of the month will see a completely different situation compared to the pre Agueda points standings. David Philippaerts is now leading the MX1 class with Italian countryman Tony Cairoli back on top of the MX2 classifications courtesy of his Portuguese double victory. Though with 12 rounds to the end the Championship is still to be decided.

The Portuguese Grand Prix got underway today in front of 18000 fans who saw two Italians David Philippaerts (MX1) and Antonio Cairoli (MX2) clinch the World Championship lead at the end of an eventful weekend. The MX1 Grand Prix was won by Sebastien Pourcel, to close a perfect weekend as he clocked also the pole yesterday. Philippaerts was second overall while countryman Cairoli won the MX2 Grand Prix from KTM fellow riders Tyla Rattray and Tommy Searle.

It was a great opening day in Agueda, the host of the third Grand Prix of 2008 which welcomed the Motocross collective with very hot weather conditions. Sebastien Pourcel clocked a stunning pole position in the MX1 class, collecting his second consecutive Lovemytime Pole Position Award after his first pole of 2008 in Spain last weekend. Tyla Rattray is also on a season high, winning his third consecutive qualifying heat and bringing home the Lovemytime Qualifying Award together with his closest rival in the Championship, Antonio Cairoli, who won the qualifying moto one to get his first win of 2008.

The Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 win-streak continues in the 2008 FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship with reigning World Champion Steve Ramon taking overall victory in deep, difficult and some might say dangerous conditions at Bellpuig in Spain on his factory RM-Z450 while Ken De Dycker finished third to stay on top of the series standings.

FIM MX GP Campaign To Begin At Sandy Valkenswaard

USA favourites Take Red Bull FIM Motocross Of Nations

As expected, the strong home team emerged winners of the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations competition at Budds Creek, Maryland, on Sunday after the competition returned to the USA for the first time in two decades. USA has won the competition more often in its 61 years of history than any other country and was also the defending champion. France was second in the three race event that matched the world's best riders across disciplines and Belgium took the minor podium place, with contributions from Jeremy van Horebeek on board a KTM machine.

Unlucky Day For Philippaerts And Barragan At Donington Park

While the KTM Red Bull Racing Team was able to celebrate in MX2 at Donington, good fortune was not riding with the team's two factory riders David Philippaerts and Jonathan Barragan on Sunday. Barragan finished eighth in the final standings after struggling to find his rhythm in the day's two races. He also had problems with an injury from last weekend's racing, where he lacerated his hand. The healing process was given a jolt when he crashed on it at Donington Park on Sunday.

Podium Second For Philippaerts In MX1 In Belgium

KTM Red Bull Racing Team's David Philippaerts made it a double podium for the KTM factory riders this weekend at Nemur, Belgium, when he amassed enough points for second overall on Sunday in the two MX1 races. But while Philippaerts and team boss Stefan Everts were pleased with the podium, both admitted it was disappointing to miss absolute victory by a single point. Earlier in the day, the team's MX2 rider, Tommy Searle was also second in his GP, but also missed the top of the podium by just two points.
