Goodwood Festival Celebrates BSB in 2008

Over the weekend of the 11 – 13 July, the Goodwood Festival of Speed will celebrate the UK’s role in providing a high-profile, competitive environment for the world’s top manufacturers and star riders by commemorating the success of the most competitive domestic motorcycle racing series in the world, the British Superbike Championship. Goodwood aims to gather together one of the largest collections of significant machinery and famous riders from the renowned championship that has ever been seen. Expect to see great champions such as Terry Rymer on his 1990 championship winning Loctite Yamaha OW01, Jamie Whitham riding Niall Mackenzie’s 1998 championship winning Cadbury’s Boost Yamaha YZF750 and John Reynolds on his 2004 championship winning Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Rizla Suzuki Ready For Brands Hatch Opener

The Rizla Suzuki team of Tom Sykes and Atsushi Watanabe can’t wait to start racing this weekend at the opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch in Kent. Round one of the 12-round championship will be unleashed on the 2.301 miles GP circuit, which is a firm rider’s favourite. The natural amphitheatre which embraces Brands Hatch proves superb viewing for spectators and a challenging track for the riders.

THINK! Renews BSB Sponsorchip & Relaunches The Motorcycle Academy

THINK!, the Department for Transport’s (DfT) road safety initiative, has signed up for a fifth consecutive year as a sponsor of the 2008 Bennetts British Superbike (BSB) Championship. The season, which kicks off at Brands Hatch on the 5th April will see a re-launched, interactive THINK! Motorcycle Academy, on-site at every BSB race to inform and entertain fans. The sponsorship - supported by on-site activity in the form of the THINK! Motorcycle Academy Unit - has been welcomed by BSB riders and fans who see the campaign as a positive and effective way of educating and informing motorcyclists about road safety. To maximise the campaign’s effectiveness the 2008 THINK! Motorcycle Academy will be more interactive than ever, combining important safety messages with fun and entertaining features such as top rider interviews, all the latest 2008 Superbikes on display, interactive computer pods, a Honda rider simulator and a BSB photo studio.

Home Visit For Rizla Suzuki

The Rizla Suzuki British Superbike team spent yesterday (Wednesday 26th March) at its title sponsors head quarters in Bristol showing the production staff at Rizla what the race team is all about. 2007 Rookie of the Year Tom Sykes, two times Japanese Superbike Champion Atsushi Watanabe, and three times British Superbike Champion John Reynolds all attended the open day and spent time talking to the work force while signing numerous autographs.

The THINK! Motorcycle Academy enjoyed a hugely successful debut appearance at the 2007 International Motorcycle and Scooter Show, which came to a close on Sunday night at the NEC in Birmingham. The Academy, which is designed to promote the government’s road safety message and encourage riders to ‘Give their bike the skills it deserves’, scooped the award for ‘Best Trade Stand’ while attracting tens of thousands of visitors during the ten-day event.

Join Stalker And JR For Ride Out

The ride out starts at 5pm and bike enthusiasts are invited to join the journey, which will begin from the Crescent Suzuki Performance Centre in Verwood and conclude at Poole Quay.

Rizla's John Reynolds Joins WSB Celebrations At Donington Park

Rizla Suzuki’s triple British Superbike Champion John Reynolds will be taking to the track during the 20th anniversary celebrations of the World Superbike Championship at Donington Park this weekend. As a wild-card rider JR won a World Superbike race at Brands Hatch in 2000 and then added a pole position and 2nd place in 2003. He will be on-hand to meet the fans but is especially excited about getting out on track on a 2007 Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 replica race bike.

Brave James Secures Second Row Start

James Haydon rode through the pain barrier to take seventh place and a second row start for tomorrow’s double header seventh round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Snetterton, with his stand-in Rizla Suzuki team mate Jon Kirkham impressing by finishing 12th on the third row. Still suffering from a shoulder injury sustained in a crash two weeks ago at Mallory Park, James showed immense courage to push himself and his Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 to within 1/10th of a second away from a front row grid position.
