McGuinness Scorches to Second at Cadwell

Morecambe's John McGuinness put in a brilliant ride on Bank Holiday Monday when he took his Padgetts Honda to second place in round 9 of the Metzeler National 1000cc Superstock Championship, his best finish of the short circuit season. The podium finish, his fourth of the year, saw him consolidate his fourth place overall in the Championship table whilst he also closed the gap to third placed Richard Cooper.

HM Plant Honda Riders Announced for Brands and Cadwell BSB

HM Plant Honda can announce that its rider line-up for the next two British Superbike rounds at Brands Hatch (7-9 August) and Cadwell Park (29-31 August) will include Steve Brogan and Karl Muggridge for the Kent circuit's two-wheel festival, with John McGuinness then paired with Karl Muggeridge for the team's ‘home' race in Lincolnshire on Bank Holiday weekend later in the month.

McGuinness Quickest on Superstock Pace at TT

Morecambe's John McGuinness set the early practice pace at the Isle of Man TT races on Monday evening, topping both the Superbike and Superstock timesheets. Held in glorious conditions, the 14-times TT winner put in a flying lap on his HM Plant Honda Superbike and with a speed of 128.067mph he was just over 11 seconds clear of second quickest rider Adrian Archibald.

Special 50p Coin Launched to Mark Honda’s 50th Anniversary of Racing

Morecambe's John McGuinness ensured he had another successful day's racing at the International North West 200 road races on Saturday when he finished third in the opening Superbike race for yet another podium finish. The HM Plant Honda rider also took a close fourth in the Supersport race and finished sixth on the Padgetts Honda in the 250cc race.

Honda Displays Dominant Start To 2009 BSB Season

Honda Racing displayed a dominant start to this year’s British Superbike season, with Honda’s five race aces from the HM Plant Honda and Padgetts Motorcycles teams achieving podium finishes in each of the three British Championship classes (Superbike, Supersport and Superstock 1000) with their CBR1000RR Fireblade and CBR600RR machines.

Major Announcement Expected on TT Day at NEC Bike Show

The Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show will host top riders, the Getty Images Exhibition and a major announcement on TT Day which is held on Saturday 6th December at the Birmingham NEC. The Isle of Man government are again sending a delegation from their Department of Tourism and Leisure to promote next year’s TT but with some exciting additions! The Show will see a special appearance of the Getty Images Exhibition, curated by Murray Walker, an amazing photography collection celebrating 100 years of road racing on the Island, which will be free to view during the duration of the show from 28th November- 7th December. The TT Marshals Association will also be represented on the stand throughout the duration as they look to promote the chance to marshal at the TT and Manx Grand Prix.

Honda’s 2009 Motorcycle Models and Ride of a Lifetime Competition Announced at NEC Motorcycle Show

The stars of Honda’s 2009 motorcycle range will be unveiled in the UK at this month’s International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC in Birmingham, running from 28 November to 7 December, and, a ‘Ride of a Lifetime’ competition is also being launched where one lucky winner will get the chance to be a VIP guest of Honda for a weekend at the 2009 Isle of Man TT and ride pillion around the famous circuit with a TT legend.

The Department of Tourism and Leisure is heading to The Carole Nash NEC Bike Show 2008 in Birmingham in November and December to promote The Isle of Man to Motorsport fans. The DTL will be in the main hall and will be sharing a stand with Duke Marketing. The TT Marshals Association will also be represented on the stand throughout the duration as they look to promote the chance to marshal at the TT and Manx Grand Prix.

TT riders head to Japan as ambassadors for the Isle of Man TT Races

TT legends John McGuinness, Ian Lougher and Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle are to visit Miyakejima Island, one of the Island’s off Tokyo, in October in a visit facilitated by the Isle of Man Government’s Department of Tourism and Leisure. Miyakejima Island is looking into creating its own equivalent of the Isle of Man TT races to boost local tourism and the economy following significant earthquakes in 1983 and 2000.

Skidmarx McGuinness Replica Screen for Honda Fireblade

Skidmarx have introduced new screens and a hugger for the 2008 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, including a replica of the screen used John McGuinness when he won this year’s Senior TT on the Padgett’s Manx Gas Racing Honda. Skidmarx manufacture their screens by hand in the UK from 3mm acrylic and this gives them the flexibility to create a variety of shapes and sizes to suit the requirements of top race teams, like in BSB. Three versions are produced for the CBR1000RR – standard, double bubble and McGuinness replica – all of which are designed to replace the original item using the existing mounting points and fasteners.

Biker Paul Stars in New PlayStation 2 Game

A top North Wales biker has a starring role in a new all-action PlayStation 2 game. One of the virtual riders in the game is based on speed king Paul Owen, from Llangollen. Paul, 36, is fresh from competing in the legendary Isle of Man TT series for the 12th time. Bike fans will be able to see his collection of powerful TT motorbikes and trophies in real life soon. He’s going to be putting them on display at the Motorbike Show in his hometown in August. But Paul can next be seen in action on the small screen thanks to Jester Interactive, developers of TT Superbikes Real Road Racing Championship, a PlayStation 2 game that is released this Friday, July 4th.
