Jeremy McWilliams Enters German Supersport 600 Series To Promote Academy

Jeremy McWilliams will join 14 year old Irish protégé Josh Elliott in contesting the IDM German Supersport Championship for the Jeremy McWilliams Superbike Academy team. This unique project will see the oldest and the youngest rider in the championship racing with support from Bridgestone Germany and Direct CCTV on Honda CBR 600 RRs prepared by A-B tuning. The team will be run by Racedays Promotions.

Stoner Takes Stunning Home Pole at Phillip Island

Ducati’s Casey Stoner has taken a sensational pole position for this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix after producing a stunning final qualifying lap at Phillip Island this afternoon. It is Stoner’s eighth pole position of the season so far and the tenth in total for a Bridgestone-shod rider in 2008. A Bridgestone rider has not taken the top spot in qualifying at Phillip Island since the tyre manufacturer’s debut MotoGP season in 2002 when Jeremy McWilliams scored the first ever Bridgestone MotoGP pole position.

Racedays Announce Johnston, Day & McWilliams are to Join the Team

Northern Ireland's Lee Johnston, current BSB Superstock 600 championship leader, will be joining the Direct CCTV Racedays team to contest the remaining rounds of the 2008 European Superstock 600 championship. Lee has already tested with the team at Magny Cours where, despite unfavourable weather conditions, he impressed with his work rate and set- up abilities. Joining Lee for the remainder of the season is Florida racer Joshua Day. Josh has recently been competing in selected rounds of the AMA championship and at only 18 years of age he has already shown his talent with a top 10 Formula Extreme finish at Daytona. He will be one of only two USA riders competing in the World Superbike series.

BMW's Superbike Project Gathers Pace

In the eight months since BMW’s announcement that they would enter the Superbike World Championship in 2009, the project has gathered pace and race fans everywhere have now been able to see the tangible aspects of the project properly for the first time. The new BMW S 1000 RR has been tested at various racetracks in Spain, but it has now had its first test at a track used by the Superbike World Championship - the Eurospeedway Lausitzring.

Saltarelli Leads the Charge

Italian Simone Saltarelli was the fastest rider in today’s first qualifying session for the second round of the Suzuki GSX-R Cup at Monza. His time of 1:54.562 was just over two tenths of a second ahead of his nearest rival Emeric Jonchiere. Third quickest today is Roland Resch, with Ismael Ortega fourth. Race legend Fabrizio Pirovano is a ‘wild card’ rider here at Monza and he finished the day with the fifth fastest time, though many of rivals believe that he was holding back today and will be the one to beat come raceday. A surprise ‘wild card’ entrant today is former GP star Jeremy McWilliams. The Irishman decided to try and help out Briton Grant Molloy and is experiencing Monza for the very first time, but enjoying every minute.

Stoner & Melandri Join Bridgestone Tyre Launch In Jerez

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racer Loris Capirossi last week attended the international media launch of the new Bridgestone Battlax BT-016 tyre, which uses tyre technology derived directly from MotoGP. In addition to discussing tyre technology with the specialist bike media, Capirossi completed a handful of laps of the Jerez circuit in Spain, using a Suzuki GSX-R equipped with the new BT-016 Hypersport tyres.

The ever-popular Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy motorcycle race is always one of the most exciting and competitive events at the Goodwood Revival. This is the only historic motorcycle race in the world that regularly attracts Italian exotics such as Benelli, Ducati and Moto Guzzi in significant numbers. Racedays are holding a new fundraising event at Ascari, Spain, with all the profits going to Riders for Health. The exclusive trackday event will be held at the Ascari Race Resort, near Malaga, on the 27th and 28th of March. GP500 legend Randy Mamola, MotoGP's Jeremy McWilliams, World Superbike's Dean Ellison, World Supersport's Iain Macpherson and Isle of Man TT heroine Maria Costello will all be providing instruction to riders over the two days.

Ilmor Announce 2007 Riders

Northampton 18.12.06: Ending months of speculation, Mario Illien, Ilmor GP Team Owner today announced that Jeremy McWilliams and Andrew Pitt will make up the Ilmor 2007 MotoGP line up. Despite his crash in Jerez back in November where he suffered a fractured left femur McWilliams is well on the way to recovery, both he and ex-Kawasaki rider Pitt spent time today at the teams engineering facility in Northampton discussing plans for 2007.

McWilliams Buell Expires Again

Jeremy McWilliams, riding a Buell XBRR for the combined Warr’s of London Harley-Davidson/Buell (Great Britain) and Hal’s Harley-Davidson/Buell (New Berlin, Wis.) teams, qualified 11th for the Lockhart Phillips USA Formula Xtreme event at the 2006 AMA Superbike Championship at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

McWilliams and Penzkofer lead the way for BUELL XBRR Debut

The recently launched Buell XBRR limited-edition racing motorcycle will make its debut at the 2006 Daytona 200 (March 11), the AMA Formula Xtreme season opener. Four Buell dealership teams are set to compete in Daytona including London’s Warr’s Harley-Davidson/Buell and Germany’s Hannover Buell. Former 250 GP and Moto GP star Jeremy McWilliams spearheads the Warr’s challenge in Florida and 2005 BMW Motorrad Power cup rider Rico Penzkopfer rides for Hannover Buell.
