Disappointment at Brno for Supersport Team
24 July 2007
Things did not go according to plan today for the Yamaha World Supersport Team as Parkes crashed on the last lap whilst challenging for second place. He re-mounted to finish 13th and gain three valuable points to his championship standing. Parkes began the 50th race of his Supersport career on a positive note having qualified second but, after a disappointing start, he was in fifth place. He focused on moving up through the pack and was in a three-way fight for second place with Harms and Jones by lap five. The battle continued throughout the race until Harms and Parkes came together on the last lap, taking both riders out. Parkes re-mounted to grab 13th and salvage some points.

Parkes Claims Second In Qualifying For Yamaha
22 July 2007
Broc Parkes put in a strong performance to take second in today's final qualifying session ahead of the ninth round of the World Supersport Championship. Parkes was not satisfied with yesterday's provisional eighth place on the grid and showed his determination in this morning's practice session as he knocked almost 0.8 seconds off yesterday's time to go third. Track temperatures were only marginally cooler than yesterday but this was enough to provide that bit more grip required in the second qualifying session of the weekend. Parkes stepped out and went second fastest within the first five minutes and then moved up into first place with 20 minutes to go. A last minute burst of activity saw Sofouglu, Parkes and Brookes battle together and eventually take first, second and third respectively. Tomorrow's race will be Parkes' 50th race of his Supersport career.

Yamaha Satisfied With Vallelunga Test Results
09 July 2007
Following on from a productive test session at Brno two weeks ago, the Yamaha Superbike and Supersport teams both headed to Italy this weekend for another test session, this time at Vallelunga. This circuit is new on the championship calendar for 2007 and is located just north of Rome. Built in 1959, the track was originally a sand mile oval. The most recent track alteration was in 2004 when it was extended by one kilometre to reach a total length of 4.11km. The main objective of this weekend’s test was for all riders to familiarise themselves with the circuit and, working with Pirelli, find the right tyres ahead of the race there in September.
