At Valkenswaard’s Eurocircuit, the venue of the first FIM Motocross Grand Prix of the season, Kawasaki presented its factory and satellite teams today at the VIP area. After last year’s loss of Kawasaki column Jan de Groot, the whole Team Green is now looking forward to starting a new season.
A double victory at Mill and the last round of the ’07 Dutch Open Championship by KRT rider Tanel Leok gave Kawasaki an effective sweep of national motocross titles in Europe this season as the Estonian lifted his first domestic crown on the KX450F-SR.
It is with great sadness that Kawasaki must announce that on the morning of the 4th June 2007 Kawasaki Racing Team Manager and Team Green bastion Jan de Groot passed away after succumbing to a serious illness which had hospitalized him for more than a week.
Kawasaki Racing Team have now completed their motocross line-up for their assault on the 2007 FIM MX1 World Championships with the signing of twenty year old Billy MacKenzie who has agreed terms for a one year deal, riding for the Dutch based factory team of Jan De Groot.
