Pirelli Race Report Bennetts BSB - Thruxton
21 April 2008
Shane Byrne transferred pole position into race win to claim his fourth win at Thruxton Circuit on his return to Ducati (20th April). The move to a Pirelli control tyre for 2008 provided a frenetic and close-fought opening race of the season. With a level playing field in terms of rubber, it was left to individual teams to select a favourable compound around the fast and abrasive 2.356mile Hampshire circuit. In race two Cal Crutchlow looked to be in dominant form, making the early running in the search for his debut victory, as he led the field for the first 12 laps. However, the sheer grunt of the new Ducati 1098 proved too much for Crutchlow and Shane Byrne expertly bided his time before making his move for the lead on his Airwaves Ducati on the 13th lap. A rejuvenated Michael Rutter on the North West 200 Ducati, left his passing manoeuvre until lap 18 to claim third position ahead of Leon Haslam.

Up And Down Final Meeting For Isilon MSS Discovery Kawasaki At Brands
14 October 2007
The Isilon MSS Discovery Kawasaki team suffered another weekend of highs and lows at the final Bennetts British Superbike meeting of 2007. Michael Rutter took the Ninja ZX-10R to 8th and 10th place finishes in the two Superbike legs, battling hard with the Rizla Suzukis and the Stobart Hondas in the early stages of the races. James Webb’s warm-up crash meant he didn’t have his number one engine for his MAXXIS British Supersport event and a high-side in front of him during the race meant he had to settle for 13th place and his first points finish for the team.

Top Tens For Rutter And Isilon MSS Discovery Kawasaki
24 September 2007
Michael Rutter gave the Isilon MSS Discovery Kawasaki team something to smile about at Donington Park today with a pair of top ten finishes aboard his Ninja ZX-10R. The 34-year-old’s 9th and 8th places in the two Bennetts British Superbike races did something to erase the pain of his young team-mate’s bad-luck in the MAXXIS British Supersport race. 18-year-old James Webb ended up in the gravel in the first turn after a collision with another rider, continuing the Kent rider’s poor run of luck on race-day after an impressive qualifying performance.

Words Of Wisdom Give Webb Win
21 May 2007
Reigning World Sidecar champion, Tim Reeves was on hand to give James Webb a few words of wisdom before the start of the fifth round of the 2007 Virgin Media Cup at Snetterton today, 20 May. Scott David Paton took the holeshot from third on the grid, followed by Leon Morris who made a blistering start from fourth. James Webb settled into fifth, with BJ Toal in sixth on the Pirelli Diablo R6 for the opening exchanges. South African Dane Hellyer had looked strong all weekend but high-sided out of third and the race at Russell's at the end of Lap 3, offering Webb the opportunity to capitalise as he stole a number of places. Within half a lap Webb had gained the lead on the run in to the Bomb Hole and didn't look back.

Toal Takes Advantage Of Webb’s Mistake
08 May 2007
The Virgin Media Cup race would prove once again to be one of the most exciting on the Bank Holiday schedule at Oulton Park, today, 7 May. James Webb took his second pole position in a row, but it was Leon Morris who snatched the holeshot from the outside of the front row. Midge Smart tucked into second, taking the lead with a slick move into Lodge at the end of the first lap. The following lap, James Webb made his move through the pack to move into the lead at Old Hall Bend. The front five runners made a quick break from Hellyer and Hipwell, before a Danny Brill crash at Hislop's chicane left debris across the track and the race was red flagged.
