Department of Tourism and Leisure Confirm 2009 TT Programme
19 September 2008
After what was described by MCN as the ‘best TT ever’ and comparisons being made with the epic Senior Race between Steve Hislop and Carl Fogarty in 1992, the Department of Tourism and Leisure has confirmed that the 2009 TT Programme will run to the same format as in 2008. Fans at the 2008 TT were treated to some of the closest racing in history culminating in the sensational Dainese Senior TT where the lead swapped eight times between Bruce Anstey, Cameron Donald and eventual race winner John McGuinness. Meanwhile, Sidecar aficionados are still talking about the wheel to wheel dual between three wheel legends Dave Molyneux and Nick Crowe.

Cameron Donald Second in Senior TT Thriller
07 June 2008
Cameron Donald and Bruce Anstey both left an indelible mark on today’s prestigious six-lap Senior TT on the Isle of Man. On his GSX–R1000 K8 Relentless Suzuki Superbike [a bike Anstey said, was the best he’s ever ridden] the flying Kiwi led at the end of laps one and two, before being forced to retire in pit lane with a broken chain. His teammate Cameron Donald then took the challenge to John McGuinness with the lead swapping between the pair on more than five occasions during the six-lap thriller. But with only one lap remaining, Donald’s Relentless Suzuki began leaking oil from a crankcase wound, caused by the constant pounding at the bottom of Barragarrow. Not content to pull out of the race, the 30-year-old Aussie nursed his ‘sick’ Suzuki home in a valiant effort that was rewarded with second place in the world’s highest profile pure road race.

Senior Disappointment for Guy Martin
06 June 2008
Any hopes that Hydrex Bike Animal Honda rider Guy Martin had of claiming his maiden TT win were dashed when he retired in today's Dainese Senior TT on lap three. After the disappointment of retiring in Saturday's Superbike TT when well in command, the 26 year old from Kirmington in Lincolnshire was hoping for a change of fortune on the Shaun Muir Racing Honda CBR1000 Fireblade and traded blows in the leading group on the opening lap held in perfect conditions.

Justice for Anstey on the Mountain
06 June 2008
Bruce Anstey put the disappointed of Monday’s supersport race firmly behind him, taking an emphatic 34 second victory in the Relentless Supersport TT Race 2 earlier today. Anstey and Ian Hutchinson couldn’t be separated at the end of the opening lap, but the 39-year-old Kiwi dropped the hammer on lap two, opening up an eight second lead, also recording a new lap record of 125.359mph. From there in, Bruce’s GSX–R600 Relentless Suzuki never missed a beat and the quietly spoken Kiwi took the chequered flag and his seventh Isle of Man TT victory. The win also completed the set for TAS Racing, having now won every available solo four stroke class in TT racing history.

06 June 2008
Following on from Monday's disappointment when he retired after only five miles in the opening Supersport TT, Hydrex Bike Animal Honda's Guy Martin bounced back with a battling sixth place finish in today's four lap Relentless Junior Supersport TT. The 26 year old from Kirmington in Lincolnshire, running as number one on the road once again, was hoping for better luck and at Glen Helen on lap one, he held fourth place just three seconds down on the lead. At the end of the opening lap, Martin still held fourth just two seconds off third place with a lap of 122.659mph.

Steve Plater Wins Junior TT for AIM Yamaha
05 June 2008
Steve Plater rode a scintillating race on Monday to take his maiden victory in the Relentless Supersport Junior TT run over four laps of the 37.73-mile Isle of Man mountain course. But Ian Hutchinson suffered more bad luck as he retired at Sulby Bridge with a blown engine on lap two. Plater opened his account with a strong 10th place in Saturday’s Dainese Superbike race, the same position as in last year’s event, although this time his lap speeds had increased considerably. In glorious sunshine and perfect conditions on Monday, the Junior TT got underway at 1.15pm. Plater made good progress and was clocked through Glen Helen in seventh place to complete the first lap in the same position.

Luckless Anstey Robbed of Victory
05 June 2008
Bruce Anstey’s start to finish victory in today’s Relentless Supersport TT race one, where he also set a new lap record, has unfortunately been overturned by the organisers after a technical infringement. An after-market part, not supplied by Suzuki, was discovered to be outside the tolerance levels set by the TT organisers for the supersport class.

Donald ‘Doubles Up’ at Isle of Man TT
05 June 2008
Cameron Donald gave Relentless Suzuki win number two at TT 2008 taking the Superstock victory in a four-lap thriller on the Mountain Circuit earlier today. The 30-year-old Aussie took a slender one second lead going onto lap two; he then increased that advantage to 15 seconds over the next three laps, handing Suzuki their seventh Superstock TT victory in as many years. Bruce Anstey was the pre-race favourite but a heavy cold left the Kiwi feeling less than one hundred percent and he retired at the end of the second lap.

TT Superstock Podium for Martin
03 June 2008
After the disappointment of retiring from Saturday's Superbike TT when well in command, Hydrex Bike Animal Honda rider Guy Martin bounced back to claim a podium finish in this morning's four-lap Scottish Life Superstock TT. The 26 year old from Kirmington in Lincolnshire, running as number one on the road once again, started steadily as mist on the mountain and damp patches made the opening lap quite tricky and at the end of the 37.75 mile lap, Martin was placed in sixth place, just five seconds off the lead. As he got more acquainted with the production-specification 1000cc Honda Fireblade, Martin upped the pace and by half way round lap two, he was up to fourth place at Ramsey, less than twelve seconds off the lead as they headed for the pit stops.

Record Breaker Martin Denied Debut TT Victory
02 June 2008
26 year old Lincolnshire rider Guy Martin was denied what looked a certain victory when he was forced to retire from today's Dainese Superbike TT in the latter stages. Riding the 1000cc Hydrex Bike Animal Honda, Martin was well in command to the tune of ten seconds and controlling the race when a problem forced him out on lap four at Sulby Village. The race started bizarrely when Guy arrived at the start line late due to no fault of his own and despite losing nine seconds at the start, he smashed the class lap record with a lap of 129.103mph from a standing start to lead by four seconds.
