Moto2 GP Bike Set For Sensational Isle of Man TT Debut

Olie Linsdell teams up with FTR to bring state of the art prototype machine to the TT. British chassis manufacturers FTR will be supplying the Honda-engined machine. It will be a similar spec to that being ridden in the Grands Prix by riders including former 125cc World Champion Gabor Talmacsi and GP winners Alex Debon and Andrea Iannone. British rider Graeme Gowland has also had considerable success on the machine when he raced in the Spanish Championship at the end of 2009.

Strong Armoy Meeting for Martin

Guy Martin warmed up for next week's Ulster Grand Prix in fine style with three top four finishes at the inaugural Armoy Road Race meeting. Held on the outskirts of the town made famous by the legendary 'Armoy Armada' of Joey and Jim Dunlop, Mervyn Robinson and Frank Kennedy, the Hydrex Honda ace posted a best finish of second in the Open race whilst he also enjoyed a rare 250cc outing.

Jenny Tinmouth has become the new female outright lap record holder on the famous 37.73 mile mountain course during the 2009 Isle of Man TT, setting her best time of 19 minutes 22.56 seconds on lap four of the Senior TT, riding the sorrymate.com Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, at an average speed of 116.835mph.

Guy Martin’s hopes of claiming his debut TT win were dashed on Friday when he was forced to retire from the Senior TT. The Hydrex Honda rider was lying in third place after four laps of the 37.73-mile Mountain Course but as he went to leave the pits after his second pit stop, the chain snapped and his race was over.

Pirelli star Conor Cummins took a sensational second place in a record breaking Pokerstars Senior TT race. The McAdoo Kawasaki rider gave Pirelli it’s fastest ever lap of the TT course on his fourth lap (despite slowing down for his second pit stop) with an average speed of 130.225 in a time of 17min 23.02 cementing his place as the fastest ever Manxman in the process.

The HM Plant Honda dynamic road race duo of John McGuinness and Steve Plater dominated today's Senior TT race, with Steve Plater saving his best until last by storming his way to victory in the dramatic TT race week finale, while team-mate John McGuinness faced heart-break when forced to retire on lap four with a broken chain, having led from the start and achieving an impressive 20+ second lead.

Outright TT Lap Record for Mcguinness but no Race Win

Morecambe's John McGuinness set a new outright lap record during Friday's Senior TT race but he was cruelly denied a 16th TT win when the chain broke on the fourth lap. Having broken his own lap record on the first lap, he totally smashed it on the second and, with a sensational lap of 131.578mph, he moved clear but the retirement put paid to any hopes of claiming the race for a fifth consecutive year.

Amor Ends 2009 TT With Senior Race Retirement

Falkirk's Keith Amor ended the 2009 Isle of Man TT Races with a fourth lap retirement during the Senior race. The Wilson Craig Honda rider was lying in a very strong sixth place when he came in to his second pit stop but the rear spindle of the machine refused to come out as the team went to change the rear tyre and he had no option other than to retire.

Martin Looking for Senior TT Victory

Hydrex Honda’s Guy Martin will be looking to end his 2009 Isle of Man TT race campaign on a high note on Friday when he contests the Senior TT. Traditionally billed as the ‘Blue Riband’ event of race week, the 6-lap race brings down the curtain on the two-week festival and with three podiums to his name already, Guy will be hoping it’s the race that gives him his first ever TT win.

McGuinness Takes 11th in Second Supersport TT

Morecambe's John McGuinness finished 11th in Wednesday's heavily delayed second Supersport 600cc race at the Isle of Man TT races with the race being held in extremely damp conditions. Rain on the west part of the Island left a long section of the course with a lot of standing water and with the other parts of the course dry, conditions were extremely tricky.

Top Seven for Farquhar in Supersport TT Races

Ryan Farquhar finished sixth and seventh in the two Supersport races, held on Tuesday and Wednesday, at the Isle of Man TT races. Tuesday's races also saw Ryan set his best ever lap on both the 1000cc and 600cc machine and went some way to ease the disappointment of retiring from Tuesday evening's Superstock race.

Metzeler shod Bruce Anstey finished his first race of the TT, taking second place to runaway leader Michael Dunlop during mixed conditions, at the Isle of Man today.
