Relaunched International Motorcycle & Scooter Show Closes Following Huge Acclaim And Over 149,000 Visitors

The relaunched International Motorcycle and Scooter Show closed its doors today after ten days which have been hailed by visitors and exhibitors alike as a resounding success. 149,215 people passed through the doors of Halls 1, 2, 3, 3a and 4 of the Birmingham NEC - a brand new location for the Show which had changed its dates to a month later in order to avoid a clash with other European motorcycle shows.

Hyosung Slashes Naked 125 Price

Hyosung, which recorded its best ever monthly sales in September, has slashed the price of its naked GT125 street bike by £250. The on-the-road price drops from £2,549 to £2,299 – a reduction of almost 10 per cent. Hyosung bikes are manufactured by S&T Motors in South Korea. UK sales are already up by 212 per cent this year and the price reduction of the GT125 will mean that Hyosung is increasingly taken seriously.

Hyosung recorded its best ever sales month in September with 152 bikes being registered. That’s over 135 per cent up on the same month last year and takes the South Korean make to a total of 781 bikes sold to the end of September – a 212 per cent improvement on the same period last year and ahead of well-known makes like Benelli, Buell, Derbi, Husqvarna, Moto Guzzi and MV Agusta.

Less than five months into 2007, the fast growing range of Hyosung motorcycles and scooters from South Korea, easily exceeded its total sales volume for the whole of 2006. Last year, 368 new Hyosungs were sold in the UK, after importer and distributor E. P. Barrus, started marketing the range in April. To the end of July this year, 532 Hyosungs were registered, with the 2006 sales milestone passed in early May. This already represents an almost 45 per cent increase over total sales in 2006 and means that Hyosung has outsold makes like Buell, Moto Guzzi, Royal Enfield, MV Agusta and Husqvarna. Sales in the first seven months this year are 250 per cent up on the same period last year.

S&T Acquires Hyosung Motorcycles

Hyosung Motors and Machinery Inc., manufacturer of fast-growing Hyosung motorcycles, has been acquired by S&T Corporation of South Korea. While the Hyosung brand will continue, the manufacturing company producing Hyosung motorcycles has been renamed S&T Motors Co. Ltd. Although founded as recently as 1979, S&T Corporation has become one of South Korea’s biggest and most dynamic groups comprising 13 group companies. S&T is a world leader in heat exchanger and several other industrial technologies.

New Accessories For Hyosung GT Range

Skidmarx have developed a range of bolt-on bodywork accessories for the Hyosung GT range of V-twin motorcycles in response to requests from dealers and customers. Two types of screen are available. The standard version replicates the original, although manufactured from 3mm acrylic instead of polycarbonate, and is available in clear and tinted options for £39.95 or in a variety of eye-catching colours for a £6 surcharge. The double-bubble style screen is also made from 3mm acrylic and is based on the products that Skidmarx supply to top race teams in British Superbikes.
