Stoner Dominates Dutch TT to Take Bridgestone’s Maiden Assen Win

Continuing where he left off in Donington last weekend, Ducati Corse rider Casey Stoner took a dominant win in this afternoon’s Dutch TT to secure his, Ducati’s and Bridgestone’s maiden win at the Assen circuit. It is Stoner’s third win of the season, and second consecutively, cementing his third place in the world championship with a reduced gap of 29 points to new championship leader, Honda rider Dani Pedrosa, who finished second today. Yamaha rider Colin Edwards completed the podium. Rizla Suzuki’s Chris Vermeulen and San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Shinya Nakano added more points to their championship tallies with seventh and eighth-place finishes, while Alice Team’s Sylvain Guintoli took his first top ten race result of the season in tenth position.

Stoner Takes First Bridgestone ‘Dry’ Win at Donington

Casey Stoner took a dominant victory aboard his Bridgestone-shod Ducati in this afternoon’s British Grand Prix, leading home Fiat Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi by almost six seconds to secure the second Bridgestone 1-2 of the season. It is the fifth Bridgestone-shod victory in eight races after Stoner’s season-opening win in Qatar and Rossi’s trio of wins in Shanghai, Le Mans and Mugello. Stoner has been in scintillating form around Donington Park all weekend, whether in the dry or wet conditions, and followed up his second pole position of the season with his second victory of the year to jump to third place in the championship.

Rossi Claims Portuguese Podium for Bridgestone

Fiat Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi took his second consecutive podium result using Bridgestone tyres in today’s Portuguese Grand Prix at the Estoril circuit. Having led the race early on, Rossi ultimately finished in third placebehind eventual race winner Jorge Lorenzo and second-placed man Dani Pedrosa. The result marks the sixtieth individual podium result for a Bridgestone-shod rider in MotoGP since its entry into the premier-class back in 2002.

Stoner Starts 2008 In Style With Qatar Win

Reigning MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner began his title defence in characteristic style with an impressive victory in Qatar on Sunday aboard his Bridgestone-shod Ducati. The win gives Stoner an eleventh MotoGP career victory and takes to twenty-one the total number of Bridgestone-shod wins in MotoGP. It was also the third season in a row that a Bridgestone-shod Ducati rider has taken the first win of the year. Stoner’s victory was another sublime performance in spite of challenging night-time track conditions at the Losail International Circuit which have made for a difficult weekend for Bridgestone.
