Sunny swansong for ARB Tuning Kawasaki

It's all over. The fat lady sang. With an absolutely beautiful and sunny weekend the Maxxis British Motocross Championship came to a close at the iconic Hawkstone Park venue in Shropshire. The weekend kicked off for everyone with a party hosted by an energy drinks company, after which everyone crawled into bed and woke up to yet another beautiful day and the final round of the 2008 season.

Podium Sweep for Molson Kawasaki at Hawkstone Park

Molson Kawasaki’s Stephen Sword, Gareth Swanepoel and Tom Church all finish on the podium in the finale of the 2008 British Motocross Championship. The Hawkstone Park circuit and the Molson Kawasaki team both share a rich history in the British motocross scene which makes it fitting that the final round of the 2008 British Motocross Championship should also be the final race for the Molson Kawasaki team before the Church family owned and operated outfit retires from the sport.

ARB Tuning Kawasaki Conquers Tough Hawkstone Weekend

When ARB Tuning Kawasaki arrived at Hawkstone Park for the penultimate round of the British Masters Motocross championship last weekend, it had all the makings of yet another wet race. Drizzle throughout Saturday morning and rain throughout the afternoon made it look like it could be a repeat of the so ill-fated previous outing of the same series barely a few weeks ago, in which the team watched Sunday's racing get cancelled. On Sunday, mixed weather and blustery winds before lunch turned into sunshine later in the afternoon, turning the outing into something much more pleasant.

ARB Tuning Kawasaki Starts Season On A High

ARB Tuning Kawasaki made the trek to the traditional season opener for British motocross at Hawkstone Park this past weekend. Riding exclusively in the MX1 class and facing some of the toughest competition in the world, Mark Jones and Jamie Lewis made a good first impression, and more. After both qualifying in the twenties, Mark and Jamie scored top fifteen and top twenty results throughout the day. Both riders suffered from mid-pack starts, but both made their way towards the top fifteen by mid-race, and this work was rewarded with the honour of the top scoring Kawasaki team of the day.

Team Suzuki's reigning world motocross champion Steve Ramon and his team mate Ken De Dycker both made their presence felt at the Hawkstone Park pre-season international with a pair of stunning displays on their electronically fuel injected RM-Z450s.

Excellent Third Position For Kawasaki's Church At Hawkstone

The wet, blustery and cold conditions at the Hawkstone Park International could not have been worse for motocross as incessant rain turned the historic sand into a difficult and tiring prospect for Molson Kawasaki’s three rider line-up yesterday, but the 3rd position overall gained by Tom Church made the effort worthwhile. Church was joined by Gareth Swanepoel and teenage rider Ray Rowson in the team awning last weekend with Stephen Sword still needing time to recover from an infection in his lower leg but expecting to return to the saddle of the KX250-F in the next two weeks.

Difficult Trudge For KRT Kawasaki At Wet Hawkstone

Kawasaki Racing Team left Hawkstone Park after a day-long deluge of rain and minimal temperatures with a best race result of 6th position taken by Tanel Leok yesterday. The third International meeting in four weeks for the Dutch squad was particularly difficult after conditions – typical of a late English windy winter day – blew dark clouds and unrelenting rain across the sandy circuit. The terrain swiftly turned into a rutted and heavy ‘obstacle’, dropping average speeds considerably.

Victory For Strijbos And New RM-Z450

Team Suzuki's Kevin Strijbos aced the two MX1 motos at a soaking, windy and cold Hawkstone Park in Great Britain yesterday to give the Belgian crew their first victory of the pre-season period and christen the 2007 RM-Z450 in the best way possible. The 21-year-old Belgian followed World Championship rivals Josh Coppins and Ken de Dycker in the first moto around the chilly and blustery midlands venue before moving past both of his rivals to seal his maiden moto victory of the year.

Yamaha MX Riders Show Solid Speed In Horrible Conditions

Yamaha Motocross Team rider Joshua Coppins cut through driving rain in Great Britain yesterday to claim third position overall in the MX1 class at the Hawkstone Park International. Team-mate Marc de Reuver also grabbed a top five position withfourth. Only two motos from three were completed after a heavy shower washed out the surprisingly well-attended meeting.

trijbos Wins Hawkstone Grand Final

Team Suzuki earned its first win of a short but busy pre-season period when Kevin Strijbos beat nine times World Champion and reigning MX1 king Stefan Everts at a sunny Hawkstone Park. Despite a brief and bizarre snow storm mid-way through the afternoon, the famous sandy circuit in Shropshire, England entertained a big crowd and saw a large entry of Grand Prix riders line-up for the International event.

Victory for Everts at Hawkstone

Rinaldi Yamaha rider Stefan Everts, claimed his third victory in four weeks after winning both MX1 heats of the Hawkstone Park International in Shropshire, England. The nine times World Champion dominated the first of two heats in bright and sunny but cold conditions. A packed crowd attended one of the more prestigious pre-season events of the winter calendar and the dark Hawkstone sand was in its usual rough and demanding state. The circuit is dwarfed by the large hill section that sees the riders climb a near-vertical 100m slope and the gradient caught out a number of top riders as the International once again boasted an array of Grand Prix stars.
