Hawk Kawasaki Team Up With Colchester Kawasaki

East Anglian Kawasaki dealer Colchester Kawasaki have recently become sponsors of the Hawk Kawasaki Team which sees the Team now being named, with immediate effect, Hawk Colchester Kawasaki. This partnership with the Hawk Team will continue into 2008. Dealer Principals of Colchester Kawasaki, Ian Stewart and Julie Bentley are no strangers to the British Superbike Paddock after running Shaun Muir (now team owner of Hydrex Honda) in 1996 on an ex World Superbike Reve Racing Kawasaki ZXR 750 and having also run riders in the past including Ray Stringer, Jeremy McWilliams, John Roach and Phil Giles.

Improvement For Hawk In Ireland

It was another step in the right direction at Mondello Park Ireland for the Hawk Colchester Kawasaki Team. Both Scott Smart and Peter Hickman gained Championship points. With Smart securing a 12th and 10th position and Hickman scoring a 17th and 14th position the team are making progress and moving in the direction that they want to be going in. In torrential weather conditions during Friday and Saturday practice sessions and a very wet qualifying session on Saturday afternoon Smart qualified in 15th position with Hickman in 21st both riders had to work their way through the strong field to gain the overall results.

Progress For Hawk Racing

Hawk Racing made huge progress this weekend at the fifth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship as Scott Smart managed to score his best result of the season so far as he took a strong eighth place in the second race at the super fast Snetterton Circuit. The two Superbike riders had a mixed weekend, 20-year-old Peter Hickman gained a 17th place in the first race but slipped off at the Esses in the second race whilst holding a good points position.

Highs And Lows For Hawk

Hawk Kawasaki discovered the highs and lows of racing this weekend at Oulton Park after two of the four riders had to sit out their races due to injury. Superbike rider Peter Hickman was forced to sit out after a 140 mph crash at Cascades during Sunday’s qualifying, which saw the 20-year-old from Willoughby damage his right wrist. Adding to that youngster Jak Wright, who rides for the Hawk Junior Team, missed his race in the Supersport Cup after a nasty crash at Shell Hairpin saw him break his collarbone.

Mixed Weekend for Hawk Kawasaki

Hawk Kawasaki had a mixed weekend of results this weekend at the third round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championships at Silverstone Circuit. Scott Smart suffered a mechanical fault in race one and was forced to pull in but gained a creditable 14th place in the second race.

Points for Hawk Kawasaki's Hickman at Brands

It was a mixed weekend for the Hawk Racing Team at the opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch Circuit, Kent. Superbike riders Peter Hickman and Scott Smart gained varied results in the two races. Hickman secured two encouraging finishes with a 15th and 12th but Smart struggled throughout the weekend and after a huge crash in morning warm up he found it difficult to gain the results he would have like and finished the races in 21st and 20th place respectively.

Hawk Kawasaki Preparing For British Superbike Season Opener

After a successful pre-season test at Snetterton two weeks ago (25th March), Stuart Hicken and his Hawk Kawasaki Team are in high spirits as they head for the first round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch this Easter weekend (7th - 9th April). The four Hawk riders are keen to tackle the technical 2.6-mile track. This season Hawk are running former team member Scott Smart who is eager to gain similar results to which he achieved with the team in 2004 on board the new Kawasaki ZX10-R. He will be joined by youngster Peter Hickman, who will be competing in his second year in the fiercely competitive British Superbike Championship with Hawk.

Positive Test for Hawk At Snetterton Circuit

Despite the cold and wet weather conditions Hawk Kawasaki are pleased with the progress they made at the pre season test at Snetterton at the weekend, 23rd – 25th March. It was the first time that all four riders, Smart, Hickman, Hallett and Wright had been out on the track as a team. The two Superbike riders Smart and Hickman braved the wet elements on Saturday and found a good wet race set up. It was the first outing for Smart on the ZX10 since he signed with Hawk a few weeks ago. Having not ridden a Kawasaki since 2004 the Maidstone rider adapted well to the bike and the atrocious conditons. The two riders tested a variety of new electronics plus new compound Dunlop tyres which proved to be a success.

Hawk Out In Full Force At Snetterton Test

As the new race season approaches Hawk Kawasaki will be out in force this weekend at Snetterton Circuit, Norfolk (23rd – 25th March). At the official British Superbike pre season test the four Kawasaki riders are eager to get some vital track time under their belt. New signing Scott Smart is keen to get back out on the ZX10 and will be working hard with the team to get the bike set up for the first race at Brands Hatch on Easter weekend.

Scott Smart Signs For Hawk Kawasaki

Scott Smart has returned to the Hawk Kawasaki equipe for the forthcoming Bennetts British Superbike Championship completing the 32 rider entry for the country’s premier motor sport series. The Maidstone rider was one of only five to taste the winner’s champagne last term, as he gave the Vivaldi Suzuki team their first ever victory in the top flight, but now he is focussed on repeating the successes he enjoyed while riding for Stuart Hicken’s equipe back in 2004.

British motorcycle racing will see an exciting new on track association between Hawk Kawasaki and AGV Sports Group UK for the 2007 season. Swadlincote, Derbyshire, is the home to the Hawk Kawasaki British Superbike team and 2007 heralds their 10th year of racing at the top national level. AGV Sport from Eastleigh near Southampton have struck a deal to supply race leathers, boots and gloves to both team riders in the British Superbike Championship, as well as British Supersport, National Superstock and the Superteen RS125 Challenge.

Sturdy Finish to Year for Hawk - Race of the Year - Mallory Park

Hawk Kawasaki gained some strong results at the Race of the Year at Mallory Park on Sunday, 15th October with riders Peter Hickman and Ian Hutchinson. In the autumn conditions the two riders were eager to finish the year on a high note. After qualifying in fifth and sixth position, Hickman gained fourth place in the race and Hutchinson sixth.

Impressive Performance By Hawk Kawasaki

Hawk Kawasaki had a fantastic weekend at 'The Stars of Darley Race' on the 8th October. With record crowds at the Derbyshire circuit Hawk put on a very strong display and won both the Superbike races with Ian 'Hutchy' Hutchinson and Peter Hickman taking a win each. In glorious conditions the three Hawk Kawasaki riders, Craig Coxhell, Peter Hickman and Ian Hutchinson were eager to tackle the two 10-lap races around the twisty 1.5-mile track.

Varying weather conditions played a crucial part this weekend for Hawk Kawasaki, at the eleventh round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park, Monday 28th August. The three Hawk riders, Dean Thomas, Craig Coxhell and Peter Hickman scored a mixed bag of results in the two races around the technical and twisty 2.17-mile circuit.

Busy Schedule For Hawk Kawasaki

Hawk Kawasaki rider Carl Rennie debut appearance at the Ulster GP at the weekend was short lived after a fuel pump problem forced him to retire at the end of the first lap. Rennie was in a fantastic fourth place in the Superbike race at the time, which is unheard of for a Newcomer to tough Irish race.

Hawk Kawasaki had an extremely positive weekend at round ten of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Croft Circuit, North Yorkshire this weekend, 11th - 13th August. The three riders Dean Thomas, Craig Coxhell and Peter Hickman all gained points in both of the Superbike races on board the Dunlop-shod Kawasaki ZX10-R's.
