Nicole McAleer continued with her 2009 Relentless British 125GP Championship and Academy Cup challenge at Thruxton on Sunday, less than a week after finishing in the points at Donington Park the circus moved south to Thruxton.

Just a very short week after our first points of the season we arrived at Thruxton looking to make further improvements continuing for the moment to use the 08 Yamaha R1. The weather although we all agree is a very welcome change from the last few weeks, continued at Thruxton which gave 2 major things for everyone in the paddock – Huge crowds to for sponsor exposure and tyre issues at this very abrasive circuit.

Dan Linfoot gave the Rob Mac racing team some cheer with another fantastic race and a well earned podium position on the NW200 Coca Cola R6 Yamaha. With the sunshine set for the weekend the crowds came in their thousands and as always Thruxton delivered the classic high speed battles they expected.

Podium Joy at Thruxton for SMT Honda

Adam Jenkinson gave SMT Honda their first ever British Championship podium on Sunday when he finished third in the fourth round of the Metzeler 1000cc Superstock Championship. The 24-year old had already given the team their first pole position during qualifying and firmly laid to rest the ghosts of 2008 when he suffered two broken arms at the Hampshire circuit.

Leon’s double win in the fourth round of the British Superbike Championship takes him to 167 points at the top of the table. James strengthened his position in 2nd with 129 points.

The Motorpoint Henderson's Yamaha team of Chris Walker and Graeme Gowland worked hard to find set up that was comfortable for a fast time around the ultra fast Thruxton circuit. The race pace will be considerably different from qualifying and with the hot track temperatures tyre management will come into play.
