XITE - the Electric Scooter

The XITE Electric Scooter is planned for launch in UK market in February '09 although it was launched a year ago in India and is currently being used on the road there. The Scooter has a top speed of around 30mph and a range of 30-35 miles and can take two people with luggage space. The maximum motor output 1.852 KW. Road speed 27.8 mph and power engine speed 595 rpm.

Don’t mess with Texas in MOTO-ST

The Lone Star State has had a big influence in the professional endurance series almost from day one. Dallas rider Troy Green was last year’s Rider’s Champion in the Buell Motorcycle Company SuperSport Twins (SST) class, and he and teammate Ty Howard of Weatherford, Texas helped the Aprilia USA squad claim the Team’s title as well. Now the Texas connection has spread to the Sport Twins (ST) division, where the M4 Avteq Racing squad is in the thick of the title battle heading into this weekend’s Barber 500k at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, the fourth round of the seven-race series.

Biker Paul Stars in New PlayStation 2 Game

A top North Wales biker has a starring role in a new all-action PlayStation 2 game. One of the virtual riders in the game is based on speed king Paul Owen, from Llangollen. Paul, 36, is fresh from competing in the legendary Isle of Man TT series for the 12th time. Bike fans will be able to see his collection of powerful TT motorbikes and trophies in real life soon. He’s going to be putting them on display at the Motorbike Show in his hometown in August. But Paul can next be seen in action on the small screen thanks to Jester Interactive, developers of TT Superbikes Real Road Racing Championship, a PlayStation 2 game that is released this Friday, July 4th.

Steve Martin in Great Demand!

Experienced motorcycle racer Steve Martin has been in demand for a variety of testing and commentary roles since his departure from the DFX Honda World Superbike team in mid May. His first role came in the form of being the guest commentator for the world broadcast feed for the World Superbike Championship from Silverstone, alongside veteran commentator Jonathan Green and fellow racer Scott Smart.

Rizla Suzuki Makes Progress In Spain

Rizla Suzuki’s Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne and James Haydon completed nearly 400 laps during the last two days during a private test at the Guadix circuit in southern Spain. Haydon completed 209 laps and helped to push the development of the GSX-R1000 another step forward. Shakey clocked 181 laps of the 3km long track that boasts fast and slow corners as well as a 750m long straight. He ran through a multitude of tests and is happy to have made significant progress to the base set-up on his GSX-R1000.
