After claiming another pole position on Saturday at the last Grand Prix of the season in Faenza Sébastien Pourcel unfortunately posted his worst race results of the campaign with a double DNF in Italy. Winning his first ever MX1 GP on this track last year, Grand Prix Kawasaki Racing’s Sébastien Pourcel was confident coming into Faenza. The hard soil looks like the tracks found in the South of France when it’s dry and on Saturday Seb was always among the fastest riders. He entered the qualifying session feeling optimistic and claimed another pole position – the first one aboard the fuel injection model and his fifth in 2008.
Livia Lancelot grabbed the first ever Women’s Motocross World Championship title and won her second GP of the season in Lierop on board her GPKR Kawasaki. It has been a long time since Livia got a Pee Wee as a present for Christmas. Nobody in her family was involved in motorcycling and she started practicing in the garden around her parent’s house. Later moving to real motocross tracks and starting her career with local, regional and later national races amongst the men she joined the Kawasaki family three years ago when Roger Pourcel offered her a ride in the GPKR team alongside his sons.
One week after a successful French Grand Prix Sébastien Pourcel dominated the sixth and penultimate round of the French Elite Championship in Iffendic. Winner of the first race and then second behind Nicolas Aubin in moto two, the Kawasaki GPKR leader was unbeatable in the super final. He increased his leadership in the series and will arrive with a strong advantage of 39 points at the last round in Lacapelle Marival on August 17.
