Tyre Problem Slows Mika Kallio at Dutch 250cc GP
6 Days ago
Mika Kallio rode a courageous 250 cc GP at Assen on Saturday coming from behind to third place before all hopes of a podium faded when he experienced tyre troubles. In what has been a difficult weekend for the Finnish championship leader he made a dramatic recovery from the difficulties in setting up his Red Bull KTM 250 for the fast and challenging Assen circuit. He stormed to the front group of riders, holding fifth, fourth and even third place on the opening laps. But the tyre trouble intervened. He slipped back to finish in seventh place, which left him holding onto his world championship lead by one single point. Team-mate Hiroshi Aoyama, who had been even further back on the grid in thirteenth position, also worked his way up through the ranks to eventually finish in sixth place ahead of Kallio. Repsol KTM rider Julian Simon rode to a lonely tenth place.

A Progressive Race for Takahashi at GP of Holland
6 Days ago
The 250cc Grand Prix of Holland ended today with an eighth place finish for Yuki Takahashi. Starting from tenth on the grid, Yuki took four positions in the first lap, settling into sixth place as he tried to maintain contact with the leading group. But, with cold tyres and a track down on temperature – as well as having a new suspension set-up on his bike which he could not verify in morning warm-up – it took Yuki a number of laps before he could settle into a good race pace. In the second half of the race, Yuki improved his rhythm and was lapping at the same pace as the leaders, but he could not improve his position in the race. These important points have helped the Japanese rider to secure eighth place in the championship.

Kallio 11th & Still Chasing Best Set-Up Ahead of Assen
28 June 2008
Red Bull KTM 250 star and world championship leader Mika Kallio found himself in an unusual eleventh spot in qualifying for the Dutch TT and is still chasing the best set-up for Saturday's GP. The 25-year-old Finn, winner of the British Grand Prix one week ago, found the set-up requirements of the Assen circuit with its high grip level and its banked corners completely different to the English Donington Park raceway. Kallio kept comparing two chassis versions and numerous set-up solutions, but also lost valuable track-time due to the changing weather conditions. He will try further modifications in the warm-up practice session Saturday morning.

Takahashi Takes Valuable Points at Donington
24 June 2008
For Yuki Takahashi and the JiR Team Scot squad, the British Grand Prix has not fulfilled the potential shown by the team during the weekend. During practice the Japanese rider had consistently kept himself in the top positions and started from fifth position on the grid. During the morning warm-up the team had not made substantial changes to the set-up of the Honda RS250RW as Yuki Takahashi was confident to be battling for a podium position. At the start of the race, the JiR Team Scot rider was near the front of the pack, close behind early leader Marco Simoncelli, who immediately attempted to pull away. As the race went on, Yuki was unable to repeat the form he showed during both practice days and slowly lost touch with the leaders. Despite this, he hung on to collect important points for the World Championship standings.

Takahashi Opens the Second Row of the Grid at Donington
21 June 2008
The British 250cc Grand Prix starting grid was effectively decided during Friday’s qualifying session. Then, in the afternoon he improved his performance still further but ended up in fifth position. JiR Team Scot Heads to UK Aiming for Good Results
17 June 2008
After the Grand Prix of Catalunya, on the outskirts of Barcelona, JiR Team Scot heads north across the European continent and crosses the English Channel heading for Great Britain and the city of Derby. There, in the heart of the English East-Midlands, is situated the Donington Park circuit. Both riders are ready to face the eighth race in the MotoGP calendar and both are moving towards a common objective: the podium. Andrea Dovizioso, fourth in Spain, has obtained excellent results in the two days of tests following that race, even with the qualifying tyres that have caused him some concerns in the past. Also, last year at Donington he won one of his two victories of the season. Yuki Takahashi also has a real hunger for improved results, both to improve his position in the 250cc championship and redeem himself from his off-track excursion in Spain, where he fought back to get into the points.

Race Comeback for Takahashi at Catalan GP
10 June 2008
After two days of practice during which Yuki Takahashi has shown continuous progress and qualified on the second row of the Grand Prix, during the warm-up this morning with a damp track thanks to overnight rain, the JiR Team Scot rider showed with rain tyres a very good pace. The race under a blazing sun saw the Japanese rider start well and he was fourth into the first turn but half way through the first lap he contacted with Roberto Locatelli, forcing the Japanese rider off the track, leaving him in 23rd and last position. Positive First Day of Qualification for Yuki Takahashi
07 June 2008
The Catalunya Grand Prix started positively for Yuki Takahashi today, when he achieved the eighth best time in the first day of qualifying on the Barcelona circuit. This result could have been better if it was not for a small error during what would have been Yuki’s fastest lap. The JiR Team Scot rider is quite satisfied because from the morning he was in the top part of the rankings and the team worked hard to find a good setting of their technical package. The aim for tomorrow’s qualifying is to improve their position on the grid and start the race with 100% determination.

Despite the lack of a result, Yuki proved himself once more, riding the whole race on the limit, showing the skill and deter mination of the Japanese rider.
