Knox Gilets have become increasingly popular since their introduction last year, because they are designed to give maximum protection for minimum effort. For 2007 Knox has updated the top-of-the-range Gilet Air with extra features to make it even easier to live with. Wearing a Knox Gilet is as simple as putting on a jacket but with the added benefit of an integral back protector and a removable chest protector, making it ideal for riders who need to get in and out of their gear several times over the course of a day’s riding (think touring, racing, track days, etc).
Knox have introduced a version of their award winning Stowaway back-protector that includes not only chest protection, but wind protection too. Integral to the Gilet Air X is the Stowaway, at just 550 grams, it is the lightest model in the Knox range and believed to be the lightest CE-approved back-protector on the market. Incredibly, its internal honeycomb polypropylene construction ensures that the Stowaway is capable of absorbing massive amounts of energy from an impact and thus comfortably exceeds latest European CE standard for back-protectors EN(1621-2). At the front is a removable Knox Advance-X CE-approved chest protector that can be used with the Gilet or worn separately with other bike wear.
