The new Ducati models will today make their public debut before huge crowds at the eicma show in Milan. Last night’s global preview was a great success as ducati presented the stunning new streetfighter and welcomed the new 1198 and the limited edition 1098 R ‘Bayliss’ relpica to the superbike family. The 1100 monster completes the new additions for 2009. A catwalk more familiar to the Milan fashion week, set the scene for the entrance of the 2009 new additions to the Bologna manufacturer’s range. These dream bikes are the result of Italian genius and creativity and will capture the attention of visitors to the EICMA 2008, Milan’s international motorcycle show being held at the city’s international exhibition centre in Rho, from 4th to 9th November. From here they will go on to set new standards as they arrive on the international market.

Bayliss Triumphs to Take Third WSB Title

By taking a third place finish in Race 1 and a fantastic race 2 win today at the "Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours", Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) has this weekend been crowned with a remarkable third World Superbike title, powering his Ducati 1098 F08 to victory and snatching the title after round thirteen, despite there being one more round still to race at Portimao (Portugal). With a total of 410 championship points, and having achieved nine race wins and sixteen podium finishes during the season, the Australian legend Bayliss has ridden the Ducati 1098 F08 factory machine into the record books, a winning bike in its debut season, a feat previously accomplished by Carl Fogarty with the 916 in 1994, and with the 996 in 1998 and by Neil Hodgson in 2003 with the 999.

Ducati Marlboro Team Prepare for Home Race at Mugello

The Ducati Marlboro Team is preparing itself for one of the most popular events of the season for the teams, riders and fans this weekend, as the Grand Prix of Italy takes place at the Mugello circuit, located less than 90 kilometres from the factory's headquarters in Borgo Panigale. As has become tradition the factory's red army of fans will again gather in the Ducati grandstand at the Correntaio corner for both qualifying and the race, with 3,000 of them giving their passionate support to both Casey Stoner and Marco Melandri.

Motogiro America Welcomes English Legend Paul Smart

In 1972 Smart rode the Ducati 750 Supersport to victory at Imola, putting the big twin on the map. Paul Smart and his wife Maggie will attend the inaugural Motogiro America in Monterey California this summer. Departure is scheduled for July 13, 2008 from Monterey’s historic Cannery Row and stops include: Paso Robles and a lap on the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in honour of the Red Bull MotoGP Championship. As a motorcycle racer, Smart is best known for his breakthrough win at the 200 Miles of Imola aboard a Ducati 750 Supersport.

More than 30,000 fans packed into the famous Piazza Maggiore square in the centre of Bologna yesterday (Sunday) for a spectacular event organised by the city and provincial authorities, together with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer, to celebrate Ducati’s fantastic World MotoGP title victory. The event was the climax of a series of initiatives involving the company and the city, which began on Saturday morning. Ducati fans and enthusiasts came from all over Italy and abroad to visit the factory and the museum, which were open to the public all weekend, while groups of motorcyclists peacefully invaded the city centre.

The result triggered scenes of unbridled joy in the Ducati Marlboro Team pit, in the more than one thousand fans who watched the race in the Borgo Panigale Factory with the CEO Gabriele Del Torchio among them and in all the Ducatistis around the world.

Stoner Scores Ducati Marlboro Team's First Home Win

Ducati Marlboro Team rider Casey Stoner continued his relentlessly magnificent form at Misano today, taking the factory's first-ever MotoGP victory on home tarmac. Loris Capirossi also rode a strong race, fighting through to fifth place from 13th on the grid. Stoner's eighth success of the year was also his second consecutive start-to-finish victory and completes a hat-trick of wins, as well as extending his World Championship lead to 85 points and increasing Ducati's advantage in the constructors' championship and stretching the Ducati Marlboro Team's lead in the teams' championship.
