Donington Park Try To Improve Circuit Surface Friction & Grip
20 June 2008
The owners of Donington Park have rejected claims that the surface of the race circuit is contaminated by fuel dropped by aircraft using the nearby East Midlands Airport, also confirming that they have carried out considerable works to improve levels of grip. Prior to the bwin.com British Grand Prix they employed a specialist firm of contractors, Ringway, to work on the surface, improving the level of friction, and thus grip, around the whole of the Grand Prix circuit and the alleged fuel problem was one of the areas they were asked to investigate.

LB's Sam Middlemas' R6 Inferno Disaster
17 June 2008
You can help - Fancy your name on the bike from just £10? - This past weekend, disaster struck for LB’s national Superstock 600 rider Sam Middlemas who was racing at Mallory Park after just getting a Yamaha R6. Middlemas crashed after hitting some brake fluid left on the exit of the bus stop during qualifying. His new R6 caught fire after the fuel-tank split and allowed petrol to flow out, which in turn ignited. The marshals were quickly on the scene and did their up-most to put the inferno out. Unfortunately this lasted for what seemed like an eternity and left Sam with a very swollen knee and a very burnt and looking R6.

27 April 2008
A Triumph Daytona 675 powered by bioethanol fuel on Friday reached an astonishing track speed of 158.7 mph at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground! The biofuel used for this groundbreaking initiative was produced from windfall apples by A-level students from a local school. Devised by Rupert Paul, contributing editor of Bike magazine, “Project Fast Fruit” aimed to convert and run a high performance vehicle on biofuel using only basic equipment. As such, the fuel was produced in a Chemistry Lab as part of an A-level project by students from the Prince William School in Oundle, Northamptonshire.

Free fuel Offer From Peugeot Scooters Is Genuine
24 March 2006
Peugeot scooters have brought forward their incredible free fuel deal as the original starting date of 1st April had created the impression that the offer was an April Fool’s Day hoax. With effect from 28th March selected Peugeot scooters will come with 9 months worth of free fuel. “As soon as we launched the free fuel offer to the trade we started receiving ‘phone calls from worried dealers to check whether we were serious,” comments Peugeot’s Sales Director Richard Davies. “I guess that the offer of 9 months worth of free fuel on selected models does sound too good to be true, but we couldn’t be more serious.”
