13th for Gearlink's Neate at Brands

The rescheduled round of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport championship at Brands Hatch on Sunday brought differing results to the Gearlink Kawasaki team with Steven Neate completing the race in 13th place to secure three championship points while Chris Martin crashed out of fourth place in the incident packed event. With qualifying set from the postponed event back in early April Chris began his race from row two while Steven was placed on row five.

Strong Win for Fitzpatrick

It was another strong win for Craig Fitzpatrick in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Cup race at the rescheduled Brands Hatch event; he also gained a fantastic sixth place in the overall race. Fitzpatrick on the BLDS Couriers Yamaha extended his lead in the Cup Championship by 15 points from his nearest rival Andy Weymouth. Having already qualified back in April on the front row in fourth position, Fitzpatrick was looking forward to racing at one of his favourite circuits and securing a strong result in the Cup and also in the main Championship.

Stunning Results for Centurion at Brands

Not only was the weather stunning at Brands Hatch but as were the results from the Centurion Racing team. James Westmoreland and Dan Cooper secured two fantastic results in the rescheduled Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch, taking a fourth and 11th place respectively. Having already qualified at the beginning of April, before the race was abandoned due to heavy snow, the Centurion duo had put their Honda's in 12th, Westy and 20th, Cooper on the grid. The race initially was the opening round of the Championship and the two were struggling to get to grips with their new Pirelli tyres and therefore were unable to place themselves higher on the starting grid.

Cruel Injury Blow for Brown & Team Appleyard/Macadam

Deane Brown, one of Britain’s brightest racing talents, left the Brands Hatch round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in an ambulance yesterday as a badly broken right leg effectively ended his season. He will undergo an operation today to remove an existing plate and have a rod inserted which will mean he will be out of action for at least two or three months. The 15 year old has been in scintillating form this year on his Team Appleyard/Macadam 125 KR Seel machine in the Relentless 125GP British Championship taking pole at the last round at Oulton Park and also in the Red Bull Moto GP Rookies Cup where he currently lies in 4th position in the standings.

Crutchlow & Brogan Win, Haslam Nets More Points

Cal Crutchlow battled to a brave win in today’s Bennetts British Superbike races at Brands Hatch, less than a week after dislocating his right ankle. Cal led the first 15 laps of race one before being overtaken by race-winner Shane Byrne down the Cooper Straight and then by Suzuki’s Tom Sykes on the same lap at Surtees. He eventually finished third. Meanwhile, HM Plant Honda team-mate Leon Haslam was hampered by a poor start, which saw him down in 10th at the end of the first lap.

Toal Ready for Action at Brands

Virgin Media Yamaha's BJ Toal will take to the Brands Hatch GP circuit for the second time this season, for the re-scheduled opening round of the 2008 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship (10th/11th May). The 19-yr old is high on confidence after a mature and determined sixth place finish in difficult conditions at Oulton Park over the May Bank Holiday. BJ will be the sole representative for the Virgin Media Yamaha Supersport team this coming weekend, as teammate Nick Medd is recovering from illness. The Biddulph based rider suffered the effects of a virus at Oulton and has since undergone a series of blood tests and examinations to determine the cause.

Gearlink Kawasaki – Brands Preview

Following their two strong finishes for Gearlink Kawasaki in the Fuchs/Silkolene British Supersport championship at Thruxton and Oulton Park, Steven Neate and Chris Martin return to Brands Hatch to complete their unfinished business in the rescheduled first round of the series on Sunday. The first round had seen the riders all complete their qualifying but the meeting had to be postponed because of lying snow on the track on race day.

AIM Yamaha Head to Brands Hatch

AIM Yamaha will be fielding just the one rider in the rearranged Brands Hatch opening round of the British Superbike championship. Although Steve Plater claimed a 13th place in the qualifying that took place at the postponed meeting back in April he will be unable to take his place on the gird because of a date clash with the Albacete round of the World Endurance championship. However, Ian Hutchinson will be in attendance at Brands Hatch where he will contest the British Supersport race on Sunday.

Another Win for Fitzpatrick

Craig Fitzpatrick secured another solid win and fastest lap in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Cup at Oulton Park, he also gained a fantastic eighth place in the overall race. Fitzpatrick on the BLDS Couriers Yamaha extended his lead in the Cup Championship by 10 points. The 30-year-old from Alfreton, Derbyshire looked smooth throughout the weekend and was consistently running in the thick of the action. Struggling in the first qualifying on Saturday in the wet conditions he dropped down the pack. However, during the second qualifying session he managed to place himself in sixth place on the grid only a second off pole-position rider Chris Martin.

Points for Centurion Racing

Centurion Racing secured a positive result at Oulton Park this weekend, when riders Dan Cooper and James Westmoreland gained a seventh and eleventh place respectively in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship. This was 20-year-old Dan Cooper's best result to date in the tough 600 Class. After dislocating his shoulder during first qualifying this was a fantastic result from the youngster. Westmoreland also improved from the 15th position that he achieved at Thruxton a couple of weeks ago and obtained a healthy points scoring position.

Another Win for Brogan on a Tough Day for HM Plant Honda

Steve Brogan took his second victory of the year in today’s Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship race. The 27-year-old now leads the series by ten points from second-placed Jon Kirkham. Meanwhile in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport series Brogan took a fifth place finish to end the day just nine points off series leader Glen Richards, despite still feeling the after-effects of flu. In the two Bennetts British Superbike races much was expected from pole-sitter Cal Crutchlow and his fellow front-row starter Leon Haslam.

Tough Weekend For Dickenson

Joe Dickinson struggled to make an impact during the third round of the 2008 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship at Oulton Park today (5th May). The Truck Links Yamaha rider posted his highest qualifying of the season to line up on the Cheshire grid in 11th. However, Joe could not capitalise on his position and found himself languishing down in 15th as the red flag waved a premature stop to proceedings as early as the start of the fourth lap.

Toal Kick-Starts His Season at Oulton

Reigning Virgin Media Cup Champion, BJ Toal put in a stirling performance to finish in 6th place at Round 3 of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship at Oulton Park today (5th May). Early free practice and the first wet qualifying session had seen BJ put in a fast pace to provisionally qualify in 3rd position. As the ultra competitive British Supersport field took to the scenic 2.692 mile circuit for a dry second qualifying, BJ couldn't quite run with the blistering pace at the front and finally qualified in 15th.

Truck Links Yamaha Qualifying Oulton

Truck Links Yamaha Supersport rider, Joe Dickinson just missed out on a top ten qualifying position at Oulton Park today (4 May), at round 3 of the 2008 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship. The 24 year old from Clowne in Derbyshire was left languishing down in 16th after the first wet qualifying session of the day. However, a more determined performance on dry tarmac in the second 35-minute session had Joe running as high as seventh, knocking on the door of a top 5 grid start.

Mature Performance for Toal

BJ Toal will carve a lone figure for Virgin Media Yamaha o the grid for Sunday's 16-lap Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport race (5 May). The Omagh rider completed his most successful qualifying of the season so far during the first 35-minute session. BJ made excellent progress at the Cheshire circuit during the wet session, running inside the top ten for the majority. His lap time of 1:50.160s on his penultimate circulation saw him move up to second, before a last gasp provisional pole lap from Marty Nutt nudged BJ back to third.

Virgin Media Yamaha crosses the country from its Scunthorpe HQ to Oulton Park in Cheshire this weekend to contest round 3 of the 2008 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship (3rd-5th May). BJ Toal and Nick Medd will be in the hunt for their first point-scoring ride of the season after difficult times at Thruxton two weeks ago. Both riders faced an uphill battle after a second qualifying session pockmarked with red flag incidents left them further down the grid order than early performances warranted.

Battling Harris Bounces Back & Promises an Upset

Shane Byrne and Cal Crutchlow power into the Holiday Monday round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship on level terms but as they plan their tactics for riding the picturesque Oulton Park circuit they need to take check the form of both Michael Rutter and Karl Harris. Rutter excelled in the recent Thruxton round, bagging a pair of thirds on the North West 200 Ducati while Harris, still sporting the bruises from his heavy crash last time out, has a good record at the Cheshire circuit, recording his best ever Superbike result, second, there last July.

The 30-year-old had a ten second advantage on his nearest rival Andy Weymouth at the chequered flag. The 2007 Cup runner-up rider also gained a strong 13th place in the overall Championship.

Three Wins Mark a Successful Day for HM Plant Honda

The Bennetts British Superbike season finally saw some racing today at the super-fast Thruxton circuit in Hampshire and it proved to be an excellent day for the HM Plant Honda team. In the Superbike category Cal Crutchlow took his first win in the class in the second race following his runner-up spot in race one. Meanwhile in Supersport and Superstock Steve Brogan completed a magnificent double by taking a win apiece in both classes. One HM Plant teamster who was not so lucky was Leon Haslam. The rider from Derbyshire was battling at the front of the pack in both races and scored a fighting fourth in race one, but succumbed to electrical problems while in the leading group in the second race.
