A Weekend to Forget for Gearlink Kawasaki
6 Days ago
After a good qualifying session whereby Chris Martin secured a front row and Steven Neate a second row start, the weather ensured that Mallory Park turned out to be a weekend to forget for Gearlink Kawasaki. The team arrived at the Leicestershire circuit full of enthusiasm and anticipation and both Chris Martin and Steven Neate were confident they could pull off a good set of results for Gearlink Kawasaki. Qualifying saw Chris circulating within the top four throughout the weekend and he recorded the fourth fastest time in the final session to secure a front row start to Sunday’s sixth round race in the Fuchs/Silkolene British Supersport championship.

Seventeen year old Jordan Thompson flew the flag admirably for Team Appleyard/Macadam at the sixth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship this weekend at Mallory Park with two excellent top ten rides. Lowry Takes Mallory Park Podium
7 Days ago
Relentless Suzuki by TAS riders Ian Lowry and Michael Laverty can both take positives from Sunday’s BSB round at Mallory Park. Lowry secured a strong podium finish after a very wet British Supersport race in third place. Laverty’s results [11th and a DNF] do not reflect the strength of his performances at the Leicestershire venue. In race one, Laverty was in the front five fighting for the win but after being punted out of second place at Shaw’s Hairpin by Shane Byrne on lap 7, then getting caught out by backmarkers in the closing stages – the Toomebridge rider lost the front going into Charlie’s while holding a solid fifth place. He eventually remounted to finish 11th.

Podiums for Crutchlow & Haslam at Mallory
01 July 2008
HM Plant Honda’s Cal Crutchlow took a pair of third places at today’s Bennetts British Superbike races at Mallory Park, putting him back into second place in the championship. His team-mate Leon Haslam took a superb second in the first race, but slipped to sixth in the second outing with a tyre choice that didn’t suit the drying conditions on the 1.41-mile Leicestershire track. In the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship Steve Brogan crashed his HM Plant Honda CBR600RR out of the race and broke two bones in his foot. The 27-year-old rider is banking on being fit for the second meeting of the season at Oulton Park in around three weeks time. Today’s race schedule at Mallory Park did not include the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 championship.

HM Plant Honda Aiming High at Mallory
26 June 2008
Mallory Park beckons this weekend for the HM Plant Honda squad. Both Cal Crutchlow and Leon Haslam have the daunting task of catching runaway Bennetts British Superbike leader Shane Byrne on his Airwaves Ducati. During a test session last week at Cadwell Park, both riders made small improvements to their HM Plant Honda CBR1000RR Fireblades and will be aiming to gain as many points as possible. With no Superstock race this weekend, Steve Brogan will be concentrating on his HM Plant CBR600RR, as he tries to claw back the points deficit to Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport series leader Glen Richards.

AIM Yamaha Ready for Mallory Challenge
26 June 2008
Following Steve Plater’s victory for AIM Yamaha at Snetterton the team are ready for the challenge of Mallory Park in round six of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport championship on Sunday. The 36-year-old Lincolnshire rider switched classes at Snetterton as there was insufficient time to prepare the Yamaha R1 Superbikes after returning from the Isle of Man TT races and Plater opted to ride in the Supersport class instead. Despite his success at the NW200 and the TT where he won three races in the class this year, it’s been a few years now since Plater rode in the British Supersport championship and we go back as far as 1999 to seek out his last win.

16 June 2008 | 1 Comment
James Westmoreland secured Centurion Racing their first British Supersport podium this weekend at round five of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport round at Snetterton circuit. Westmoreland grabbed a stunning third place after running with the leaders throughout the 18-lap race and passing experienced rider Hudson Kennaugh in the closing stages, shortly before the race was red-flagged due to an accident. Young Westmoreland who celebrates his 20th Birthday next week gained an early Birthday present at the super fast Norfolk track. Running consistently strong throughout the weekend it was looking likely that Westy would be able to get on the podium. Not even half way through the season and the youngster has got to grips with his Honda 600 and is now eager to get similar results at the remaining rounds of the series

16 June 2008
Liverpool’s Steve Brogan extended his lead in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 championship with another win, taking his lead in the series to 40 points. In the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport series Steve took a battling sixth at the super-fast Snetterton circuit to hang on to second in the series. In the Bennetts British Superbike championship HM Plant Honda riders Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow had a tough day. In the second wet race, Cal hung on for third place while Leon bagged fifth at the flag despite grip issues.

Solid Points for Laverty & Lowry at Snetterton
16 June 2008
Relentless Suzuki riders Michael Laverty and Ian Lowry both scored solid points in their respective British Championship classes [Superbike and Supersport] earlier today at Snetterton in Norfolk. Laverty finished his first race in an impressive sixth; then in a wet second race, Michael made his way through the field after a poor start to again finish in a solid sixth position. Unfortunately, Laverty had used the best of his wet weather Pirelli tyre chasing down the leaders, and having been as high as fourth at one stage, the current British Supersport champion’s first BSB podium on the Relentless Suzuki cannot be too far away.

Lowry Shows World Class Form
27 May 2008
Ian Lowry put his GSX–R600 Relentless Suzuki on the top step of the podium at Donington Park earlier today, after a titanic battle with World Supersport riders Jonathan Rea and Andrew Pitt. It was a welcome return to the front of the pack for Lowry who spent the entire race mixing it with the Ten Kate duo crossing the line in third place. Due to an infringement with the rules, both Ten Kate riders were subsequently disqualified, giving Lowry the win – nothing more than he deserved after a masterful performance.

Changeable weather conditions worked against the Omagh rider during the two qualifying sessions. With the initial qualifying session dry, BJ worked on improving his ideal sector times. However, with time running down on the clock BJ failed to find the final second reduction in lap time that would elevate his Virgin Media Yamaha onto the front two rows.
