Zero Wins French Electric Motorcycle Challenge

The Zero MX from Santa Cruz based Zero Motorcycles, competed head on against over 250 riders in the Electric Motorcycle Challenge organized by the French Federation of Motorcycles. The race which took place in Gironville, France, saw Thomas Aubry riding on behalf of Zero Motorcycles, beat not only the four other electric motorcycles entered, but also the best petrol powered riders as he took first place against the petrol motorcycles in the last race of his series, placing him third overall in his class.

Gino Rea on the Podium in 2nd and Championship Lead at Magny Cours

Gino and Ten Kate Honda had another very successful weekend at Magny Cours with a podium finish in 2nd and the Superstock 600 Championship lead going into the final race at Portimao. Gino started from second on the grid but after a few small mistakes was pushed back to 8th after the opening two laps.

Camier's Testing Weekend…..

It was a long testing weekend for Leon Camier making his debut appearance for the Aprilia World Superbike Team at Magny Cours. After two extremely fraught races the 23-year-old was forced to retire from both races with electrical and mechanical problems. Camier who first sat on the Aprilia on Friday morning made massive progress over the weekend and was up to 11th in the opening race and ninth in the second race when problems struck.

Camier to Contest Final Two WSB Rounds

Newly crowned 2009 British Superbike Champion Leon Camier will contest the final rounds of the World Superbike Championship on board the factory Aprilia RSV4. Camier sorted a deal this morning (Friday 2nd October) to partner the experienced Max Biaggi at Magny Cours this weekend and the final round at Portimao on the 23rd – 25th October.

Livia Lancelot Reigns in France

Livia Lancelot wrapped up her first overall win at home track Ernee in great style, with the Championship leader dominating both moto’s and topping the podium from Laier and Papenmeier. Lining up for moto two after yesterday’s dominant performance, pole sitter Lancelot got another good start to move past Laier on the outside of the first corner.

Clean Sweep for KTM at Ernee with Nagl and Home Hero Musquin

This year’s French Grand Prix rewarded a huge enthusiastic crowd with the victory of home rider Marvin Musquin, the first Frenchman to ever win an MX2 Grand Prix at Ernee. Under very changeable weather conditions KTM fellow rider Nagl won the MX1 Grand Prix as both dominated today’s four heats which they led from the start to the flag.

De Dycker 10th After French DNF

Teka Suzuki World MX1's Ken De Dycker has taken 10th position at a weather-hit Grand Prix of France at the Ernee circuit for the eighth round of 15 in the FIM MX1 World Championship. The Belgian steered his works RM-Z450 to third place in the first of two motos in windy and showery conditions and had to withdraw from the second race while holding second after a right foot-peg broke negotiating the rough French dirt.

Desalle Notches Another Top-Five Result

A windy Ernee circuit, crowded by 38,000 spectators, hosted the Grand Prix of France and the eighth round of fifteen in the FIM Motocross World Championship. Max Nagl triumphed in the MX1 class and Honda’s highest representative with the CRF450R was LS Honda’s Clement Desalle, in fifth position overall, in a GP run in strange climatic conditions that varied between sunshine and heavy rain showers.

Lancelot Closes in on Maiden Home Victory

The French meeting of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship started off today with the first moto victory of home rider and defending Champion Livia Lancelot. Starting from pole, Lancelot led home rivals Papenmeier and Laier. Moto two, to be televised live, will get underway tomorrow.

Desalle and Musquin on Pole at Crowded French GP

A big French crowd already showed up to watch the opening day of the French GP starting with home rider Musquin’s win in the MX2 qualifying. The result was followed by Belgian Desalle’s maiden qualifying win in the MX1 class with Nagl and Philippaerts rounding up the top three. Cairoli ended seventh ahead of home hero Pichon.

Casey Stoner emerged from the drama with a fifth place that was certainly creditable but not entirely satisfactory to the Australian, who would surely have fought for the podium if it weren’t for a technical problem in the dry part of the race.

Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo took a stunning second win of the season in Le Mans today, negotiating varying track conditions and a change of bikes to lead from the first lap to the flag and take the championship lead. It was a doom-laden day for his team-mate Valentino Rossi however as the world champion slid off early on and then had a ride-through penalty to compound his misfortune.
