Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade Scoops Yet More Awards

Honda’s all-conquering CBR1000RR Fireblade has won the Motor Cycle News award for Best Sportsbike over 601cc. At a star-studded Motor Cycle News Awards ceremony last night, Honda was presented with the award, which recognises the Fireblade as the machine of the year in the fiercely fought litre supersports class. There to pick up the award from comedian Alan Davies and MCN editor Marc Potter was Steve Martindale, General Manager of Honda (UK) Motorcycles.

The script - which enables customers to gain their freedom on two-wheels for minimal cost – now includes the Honda VT755C Shadow which boasts the looks and proportions of a big American cruiser. It has wide handlebars, teardrop tank, punchy, liquid-cooled 90-degree V-twin motor, chunky wire-spoked wheels and chromed two-into-one exhaust, but, has the running costs and practicality of a smaller machine.

Great Start for Mason and Quay Garage Racing

Quay Garage Racing’s winning form returned at Donington Park on Bank Holiday Monday, with new rider Gary Mason finishing second in the Superbike Cup in Race One and bringing the team’s Honda Fireblade home in first place in the second race. Even though this was Gary’s first outing on the Quay Garage CBR1000RR Fireblade, he qualified first out of the Cup riders and ninth overall on the grid, ahead of several leading Superbike team riders, including Team Yamaha’s Karl Harris and Tom Sykes of Rizla Suzuki.
