Haga Fastest as Yamaha Riders Shine
20 September 2008
Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) set the fastest time of the first wet qualifying session at Vallelunga. In a great team display Troy Corser (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) went fourth fastest, despite the atrocious track conditions. Haga also fell at high speed in the timed session, on a part of the track where many riders also ran off the track or crashed. Corser came close to falling at the same spot, but saved his potential high-side before coming into the pits to finish his session with a top four time.

Haga Powers to Quickest Time in Wet Vallelunga WSBK Qualifying
19 September 2008
Yamaha Motor Italia WSB rider Noriyuki slithered to the quickest time in today’s first qualifying session at Vallelunga as a wet track and rain greeted the WSBK regulars on their second visit to the circuit. The Japanese rider stopped the clocks with a time of 1 minute 50.595 seconds despite two crashes. The only other rider to lap under the 1.51” mark was Ruben Xaus (Sterilgarda Go Eleven Ducati) in second place, while the provisional front row was completed by points leader Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) and the other Yamaha of Troy Corser.

Pirelli Donington race results
08 September 2008
Atrocious weather conditions plagued the first two days of the Donington Park meeting, with every single WSB session held in wet conditions. Any drying track surfaces were soon covered by the waves of rain that came in day and night. A wet Superpole - 12 laps for each rider over a 50-minute session - was taken by Troy Bayliss on his Ducati, making this his sixth pre-race win of the year.

FGSport & Pirelli to Renew Tyre Supply Contract
18 July 2008
FGSport is pleased to announce that Pirelli will be the official tyre supplier for the FIM Superbike World Championship for a further three years after the conclusion of the current contract, therefore until the end of 2012. The supply, as already envisaged in the current agreement, will include the FIM Supersport World Championship, the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup and the UEM Superstock 600 European Championship. Pirelli’s working method, the undisputed reliability of the tyres, which have never caused any incidents or recorded any breakages, together with the absolute quality of the service provided were all determining factors in analysing the conditions for the renewal. Undoubtedly they were also a difficult obstacle to overcome for the competitors, who were required by the public supply tender to guarantee the same level of service that Pirelli has shown it is able to offer in this particular field.

Riders Arrive at Cold & Wet Nurburgring
12 June 2008
As the World Superbike paddock is being set up at the Nurburgring on what proved to be an extremely cold, wet and windy Thursday, the main media interest surrounded the recent performances of 35-year-old Spanish rider Carlos Checa (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) and 25-year-old Max Neukirchner (Alstare Suzuki) from Germany, currently lying second and third in the championship standings. Checa came away from the last round at Miller Motorsports Park with a double win and 50 points and this, coupled with two DNF finishes and zero points for the championship leader Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox), have helped to reshuffle the cards in the points standings, even though Bayliss still has a 28 point lead. Neukirchner, who had scored his first WSBK win two rounds before at Monza, has twice since been on the podium in second place.
