Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 riders Steve Ramon and Ken De Dycker contested the second round of the United Telecom Belgian Motocross Championships held at Kester this weekend with Ramon increasing his series lead. The grassy woodland circuit was in excellent condition for the championship races and over 7000 race fans turned out to support their heroes. Ramon, who is the reigning Belgian and World Motocross Champion, finished second overall on the day with a strong 1-2-2 scorecard after battling hard with Josh Coppins, but was able to increase his championship lead over team-mate De Dycker.
Kawasaki Racing Team's Tanel Leok and Manuel Priem battle it out in their own National Championships in Estonia and Belgium. With a weekend off from the World Motocross Championship Manuel Priem and Tanel Leok each participated in rounds of their own National Championships. For Manuel this meant Kester in Belgium while Tanel travelled further afield to Jaanikese Krossirada in Estonia.
One week after a successful French Grand Prix Sébastien Pourcel dominated the sixth and penultimate round of the French Elite Championship in Iffendic. Winner of the first race and then second behind Nicolas Aubin in moto two, the Kawasaki GPKR leader was unbeatable in the super final. He increased his leadership in the series and will arrive with a strong advantage of 39 points at the last round in Lacapelle Marival on August 17.
Kawasaki Racing Team's Tanel Leok took victory in round one of the Estonian national championship, While Manuel Priem took a well-deserved weekend off to recover from the bruises he received after being mown down in Mantova, KRT team-mate Tanel Leok took victory in the opening round of the Estonian motocross championship in Saku.
